I remember this one time at LA Fitness one of my gym cuties that frequented there decided she wanted to sign up with a personal trainer. I saw her hitting the leg press machine under his guidance and she was really pushing herself. She racked the weight and she put her hand out so he can help her up, no words were exchanged, and she just started weeping hahahaha The trainer caught me looking at them and had an “oh crap” facial expression lmaoo

@@marcusorillius6971 I 100% agree with that, but that is unfortunately the risk you face when going to a commercial gym, and it's to be expected. I'll always have a backup plan if I can't get on a rack, or machine, and I'm the type of person that will always ask if I see someone waiting if they want to work in, and offer to spot them. On days I feel like taking my time I just stay home, and use my Home gym. Having Options is key.

Rick you are an actual recreational scientist. These geeks just recite articles and gentrify fitness. Theres a book called Against Method by a fella, Feyerabend. Im a pathologist working on a federal institution and THIS is the spirit of DISCOVERY. Truth , Its hard, its ugly, sometimes even bad . To take a field of science so new (bodybuilding science) and pretend its body of knowledge is all comprehensive is so silly. Its so new. It only benefits from previous knowledge and people who have the desired phenotype. Things aren't as easy as a few MRIs and electrostimulation bullshit.

It's people fishing for new angles for views. In the end, you may get 5% better results by optimizing everything, yes. But being consistent because you are having fun will take you WAY further, even if your workout is not 100% according to studies that gaywads like Jeff Nippard or Will Tennyson bring up. This whole new generation of semi jacked nerds and the fact that they have so much mass appeal is frankly disgusting

Just go to the gym and do what feels good.

Personally as someone with shitty genetics who’s already worked out for like 8 years the “science based” stuff has actually helped me a lot (especially people like Mike Israetel because he explains things in such an easy to understand yet nuanced way). I’ve made more gains in the last 4-5 months than almost my entire time working (my profile pic is from December 2023). If you have above average genetics then I’m happy for you but some people need to do a bit more.

I dunno man going in as a hardcore personal trainer is probably not the best idea. It's like with lifting, i don't start out with max weights, i warm up to that weight and clients need to warm up to their trainers so its not in your best interest to go all in right away, its too much pressure and leads to collapse, this is almost true for anything in life.

More like delusional lmao. Will went to a powerlifting meet and did super well as a tested natty. Dude is by no means "moderately strong"

The gym I started training at had no a/c and it would get to above 30 degrees in the summer and training legs was unbelievable, yes it was insane but everyone who was there was loving every second. It’s a mindset, I miss that gym, bay doors open, sun shining and metal plates slamming together

Really interesting how the term "science" has been commandeered by those whose hubris outweigh possible valid criticism, which they label as "anti-science".

45:06 no way! When i was watching the original video the first thing i thought was those are some badass pull up bars. Pure iron, wide grip and rusted as fuck. Seems I'm in the right method of thought if Eric thought the same thing

Speaking on the "AC was set to 80" review and what Rick said. I started pro wrestling training last Sept. My first session of training was in a metal warehouse with no AC in MS and it was 103 outside. Trained for a full 3 hour session in that.
