How old fashioned. Modern MotoGP would have spent the majority of the last lap showing the teams in the garage watching the race, the riders' fathers crossing their fingers, a girlfriend putting her face in her hands and then announced that the race stewards would decide the winner based on who they wanted to lead the championship.

Thanks for sharing! I've looked for a long while to some footage of this GP. I knew that Biaggi had a surgery on his hand a few days before the GP, due to a bad injury @ Paul Ricard. Anyway, after an awful qualifying practice (18th) he was able to fight for the 1st place

@@titanio784 in generale la Honda andava via un po' in tutti i rettilinei. Biaggi ha avuto una sbacchettata dopo che era uscito dalla Biondetti, Criville lo ha ripreso (probabilmente con la stessa moto non gli sarebbe arrivato addosso) e poi gli ha piazzato una bella staccata, mentre Biaggi faceva la Bucine più rotonda. Anche in quell'ultima uscita è andato poi a perdere nuovamente una volta che entrambi hanno scaricato la potenza sul rettilineo. L'ultima staccata è stata fatta un po' soft da Biaggi, però fin lì c'era arrivato oltre i limiti della moto.

It’s a function of him being a true 250 master. He rode the 500 the same way he rode the 250, and that required wide entries for high corner speeds. He did the same thing in WSBK and turned the Aprilia into a cornering weapon.
