If you're a fan of the show then I strongly recommend reading a book on the history of the Spartacus uprising. It's actually astonishing what the gladiators and slaves accomplished against well equipped Romans across the Italian Alps. Gladiators and slaves alike in the thousands, at the reach of freedom only to be divided and torn asunder by hunger and desperation. I think this show did a good job of visualizing the history as well as catering to the drama of human identity and perspective. This show in my opinion is completely underrated and deserved and STILL deserves recognition.

Luca Cardalesi the episode “mors indecepta”. Basically at that point Spartacus wanted to get everyone out and safe, Crixus, Agron and that group wanted to fight into Rome. That’s the episode Crixus told Spartacus he’d rather not die with a spear to the back, which he even though getting beheading is what killed him, it was ultimately a spear to the back that did him in.
