ken onion is on fire! he and CRKT won many awards at blade this year, as I'm sure you know. The nice thing with this one is the 12c27 blade is pretty hard @ 59-61. I think the new ripple has accuto 440 that's a little softer, and it's like 2x the price of this one I think, although the design is nice and I like the brown coloration. I would love a swindle w/titanium handle as it is kind of heavy.

The ikbs is captured in a washer very easy to take down. No ball bearings flying everywhere. Knife is ok for the price, its not a Hinderer but still for the price not bad.

Love mine great look opens very smooth only problem I've found was the the rounded part the the pocket clip has contact with the blade if closed hard my edge has an indentation where the two pieces meet.

How cool is that knife! Wow, one of CRKT''s finest. I have to say if they would have radius that clip on the top as they did the blade, and rounded the stud end instead of knurled, it would have made it even better...just nitpickn'. :) Cheers, Sean

looks neat, wanted one since I seen it on the cover of knives illustrated, was worried like you said about it being to light and small, but the size compared to the spydercos you posted and heft makes it sound that much better, ill be looking for one, thanks.

T8 torx with my set. It was weird, it almost seemed like it was between a t8 and a t9. I've got a couple quality torx sets and they were all like this. I used a t8. Just use dish soap and warm water and a brush, and brush it out real good. Scrub it a couple times and rinse well in between. Once done just dry it real good w/canned air or an air compressor, or put it in front of the air conditioner.

Has the lock up on your knife moved at all? I just got mine yesterday and have flipped it quite a few times and the lock up went from early (like yours in the video), to past 100%.

Bummer. I would try cleaning it very good and see if that helps. If it doesn't you could open it up, if you're comfortable with doing so. This knife has a captured bearing system (no loose bearings inside), which I didn't know when I shot this video, so bearings won't fall all over when you open it, although the pivot does spin around making it slightly difficult. Really, washing it well should fix any issue, if not contact CRKT because it should be very smooth and fast.

Also, it may be the pivot is too tight, you could try loosening it. Good luck!

Thanks for the good review. I've bought one of each and they have showed no real difference in functionality. I do like them both, but do favor the grooved one. Call it taste I guess.I also think that Sean C. was on to something with the suggestion of a rounded end on the clip but it does seem to need to be pulled out (the clip) at times to properly clip it to your pocket. Great to see some good reviews on some affordable knives. Mike...

CRKT is great with taking back their knives. Go to their website and contact them. They'll repair or replace it.
