I’ll throw my humble opinion in the ring because the Ibi is actually my high water mark of my collection of folders. Even the ones that cost 3-4 times as much. When I saw the knife when it was announced I immediately saw the design lines of a fish. A sockeye salmon in particular as that is what I knew. I reached out to Jesper asking about his design and he told me that the Ibi was initially going to be called by another name, a certain species of fish, but the name was already registered. You can ask him yourself to know the specific fish. Now, remember the bird and trout knives with a finger ring? Kinda cool to me to have a knife that looks like a fish, and has a defining feature a popular trout knife. I can’t comment specifically about the CRKT marketing department or their discussions with Jesper, but I don’t see the whole kubaton thing. That signet ring doesn’t speak tactical wannabe or karambit to me. I think the marketing department missed it on this one. What I like most about this knife is that for whatever reason the knife instinctively ends up in the position/grip that I want without me thinking about it. I use a pinch grip or at least my thumb on the side of the blade quite often with the blade largely parallel to the ground to open boxes and cut rope and fishing line. Maybe that’s weird to most, but it’s what I do. And those contours at the front of the handle leading to the blade make that quite comfortable. It’s a design element you see in some of Jespers other designs which I love. Anyway, just my humble opinion. Nobody does anything wrong, just the way that works for them. That said, if you’re looking to re-home that knife, I’d gladly buy another! Cheers!

I just can't stop Intuitively reaching for this every morning for EDC, even tho I have spydercos and Benchmades and kershaws, Something about this IBI just draws it to me. Maybe it's the Elegance that hides the danger in this knife, idk. Blade shape is great, can slice and poke just fine, and the D2 in black stonewash is beautiful. IDK, call me crazy, but I live the IBI

@@Fanati_XX just bought mine as a 5th pocket kind of knife. Something to go with my 940 that's in my right pocket. Its super light, i don't care if it gets lost or taken at $40( ill really try not too but if i lost my 940 id be upset.) The ring is good for defense and grip( rather punch a guy in the head or cheek vs resorting to cutting someone, although i would if i had too). I like how it looks. I really like the knife for the price. I think it looks cool too. Great knife to hand to people too if they ask for one, if it gets beat up its not as sad. Overall, i like it so far a lot. I forget its even there half the time until i need it.

Tbh, I would scroll straight past this knife on a website if it didn’t have a Karambit ring. It’s the reason I’m watching this right now and considering purchasing!

The ring actually isn’t that bad. When you get your pinky finger into that ring....that knife will never come out of your hand.

I bought it because it was different. I like the blade shape and the fact that it was D2 . I don’t really think of it as a Karambit, the ring just makes an extension of the handle

I was seriously thinking of buying this blade. Because the judge took my Provoke from me after I stabbed a guy and sliced another guy ( in defense). I truly want another Provoke but don’t have the 200+ to buy one and the ring on this has my eye. YUGE fan of the retention ring. As a guy that has actually used a knife more times then one I attest that retention rings work. I do have slices on my pinky from another knife that had no ring. Appreciate the review

I'm sorry, but I want to know more....I've had so many blades taken from me by LE! It's why I hesitate to Carry my favorites
@enlightenedpreparingep40063 жыл бұрын
@@francismartino6890 I’ll tell you more. After regular carry I can tell you the quality of the plastic Provoke is inferior to the original. The blade when closed sits aprx 1/8 an inch from the back piece which has caused snag issues. However all in all I still love my Provoke and carry it daily with about 3 to 5 other knives. Also worth adding I will be buying the Beff serration version sooner or later. Those Veff serrations will accidentally cut stuff. 💥👊🏻

I got it on sale and I can get some of the criticisms knife reviewers put for the knife. I'd say at the cost I got it for on top of the D2 steel and G10. Also the ring for retention and other purposes is a weird but neat plus. I suppose if I bought it full msrp I'd totally see what you're saying.

I'm really thinking about buying it. There is that karambit style fidget factor to it that I like. Also spinning it on your finger while it is closed is soooo appealing to me. Awesome video btw. Stay healthy. Love from Hungary.
