i have a crkt symetry, i use it as an edc. it has a learning curve as it will close on any bump to the spine but otherwise holds up to what i put it through and the heat treat was nailed because i rarely sharpen it.

For occasional light duty, 8Cr13MoV is fine. Easy to sharpen. Definitely not an every day carry, but for the occasional dress-up event, these are nice enough looking options! Very unobtrusive.

I’ve had the micarta Boker Kansei for about two years now since they first released. I didn’t have the best experience with it in all Honesty. The back spacer started separating and causing insane amount of rattle between the scales that I can’t stand carrying it anymore and the scales began to warp. Other than that it’s very slicey blade but poor QC made my shy away from edcing it

Also, check out the Eafengrow EF922. It's kind of a cheaper version of the Symmetry, tho with (supposedly) 14c28n. They're often available for under $20... tons of fidgety fun for the money.

Kaizen looks nice and has great steel, but the deployment system is VERY uncomfortable to say the least. If you use your knife very rarely, then it might be feasible.
