To this day I will say this as Croatian: This Croatia was even stronger than Croatia which won Silver medal in World Cup 2018 and Bronze Medal in 2022, but we just... couldn't pass Turkey here haha, this was the biggest SHOCK TO ME EVER in Football, I am still in shock, but I can only congratulate Turkey... you deserved to win this... you didnt surrender until the end, HATS DOWN, respect. yes this is absolutely accurate, 2000's the first decade of this 21. century was the best years of Turkiye, between 2000 - 2012, this 12 years were golden and legendary years for Turkiye, in those years Turkiye was playing very very well, it was such a strong, powerfull and vigorous team, but unfortunately after 2012 Turkiye has been emasculated and it never strengthened again.

I remember well that famous match from the European Championship in 2016. When the Turkish and Croatian fans gave a good scare to the Frnauc policemen, pretending to fight each other, and in the end, friendly cheering from both teams turned out. And the Greeks greeted the Croatian fans with baseball bats, torches, and bottles and attacked the stand where there were parents with children. In addition, many Croat's vacation on the beautiful Turkish Sea during the summer and winter. You have a very beautiful country.

One of the matches that cemented my love of soccer. Watched this as a young high school aged American kid. Never looked back. One of the greatest finishes you'll ever see in your life. First of all Turkish team from 2008 was psychologically extremely strong and determined. After all, they made a comeback in 3 consecutive games. But this one was especially amazing. Losing a goal 1 minute before end of extra time, yet still managing to save the game. And after such a difficult game they even nearly eliminated Germany in semifinals. Of course Spain in 2008 was amazing and all, but Turkey and Russia really stunned the world back then. Turkish team maybe even stronger than during its 2002 World Cup campaign. After all the class of their competitors at Euro was higher than during the mentioned World Cup.

We(Croatia) should v had at least 1 trophie so far if we are not always lacking that quality number 9. Look at Olic this match. He had like 7 good chances and one 100% clear chance and he didnt score 🤣 All those assists and passes from Modric into the 5 yard box not taken advantage off. Poor Modric 🤣 Imagine if we had Suarez or Lewandovski in this match. Judging by chances the score would be 4:0. But yea.
