His issue was that these are not great players (Wilshire, Shelvey), but still, this was exactly the game you put one of those players on the pitch. It is the first time I can remember in my lifetime I can remember looking forward to watching the England team. This is an England team that has an exciting future. The reason Russia played better was because Croatia were expecting them to be very defensive, given that they played 5-3-2 against Spain. Therefore Croatia were pressing too high and Russia, who were just as attacking as in the 2 or 3 games caught Croatia out especially with that first goal. France has one of the best teams, a dream team(if not the best) and their display against Belgium was terrible. Sat back like if they were Senegal, didn’t even want to play the ball, lob the ball to their speedsters all day, Mbappe started diving vs Uruguay and then showed no respect vs Belgium including Pogba. They’re supposed to be one of the most talented teams out there and their acting like that? That wasn’t good football out there (FYI im not Belgian).
