This is my number one because of the catchiness of the song and his back story. Plus I would like to see Croatia get a win. But I’m torn… many great songs this year. Looking forward to hearing more of your reviews.

It's a quirky, catchy and unpretentious take on a serious topic very relevant for Croatia, but relatable to many people. Baby Lasagna's story is also amazing - "this was a reserve song that was not supposed to compete, he got on stage by accident because another contestant dropped out so he had only 1 month to shoot a music video and prepare for his act. This was the first time he actually performed on stage in front of a camera (he was a guitar player and wrote music for other artists) and he admitted that he was extremely anxious about it. He had 50 spotify listens before Eurovision hype, and was not assigned by any music company. He wrote lyrics and music, produced and made this song all by himself in his bedroom and then went on to win Croatian competition by a landslide, he got 53% of total public votes." His girlfriend directed his music video (which is amazing!), and his brother and friends were on stage with him. He's also really down-to-earth, humble and kind. His close friend suggested him to submit the song to Croatia's competition for Eurovision and all this is happening now!

But Käärijä still came 4th with the jury despite everything. And its not like the jury are never into these kinds of songs (and I am sure the Finland jury will be giving Croatia those 12 points). Måneskin also came 4th in 2021, Netta came 3rd 2018. And there's also other examples of songs being a bit quirky but still manages to grab the attention of the jury. This song is very catchy, got great lyrics and its radio friendly! And if they stay at the top of the odds, then there's also no way juries will ignore a song that high with the bookmakers.

I think Kaaria started great, the best, but the melody wasn’t tight enough, it dissolved into festival vanilla tune. Baby L keeps it tight and exciting to the end.

I'll tell you WHY this song should win ESC. Beside being so highly catchy and relatable. He himself wrote his lyrics, made music, arangement and came up with this staging in 1 MONTH (doing all other things like interviews, official video etc) as he came to competition as a reserve. His girlfriend is in charge of his visuals and his brother is a drummer, and everything is made mostly with a help of his family and close friends. This guy delivered, not only a song, but values too. He's not bringing nudity, cursing and there's no any other provocation inside his lyrics or visuals. That's what ESC is all about. It's the essence of this festival. It's a SONG competition made by an author himself. Marko himself is not aware of what he delivered here becouse he's such a humble and kind soul, which is such a rarity in the world these days. He's an artist indeed and I'm so very happy he finally decided to take that step and pursue his solo career after so many years being a band member and writing songs for others. Wish him all the best in life ❤

story behind song is that young people from Croatia going from home to work in foreigner country's to make money for living, that's why he sad on start "i'm big boy now" he is old enough to go on path where lots of young was before him , and then he say i sold my cow, he make money from selling cow to have enough money to start better life in other country and buy ticket for boat to leave, he make party for his village to dance with them for last time because its best way to cover his sadness because he is leaving his loving village and loving people behind. On official video you can see him how he is going away and waiting for boat thats why end of song have melancholy piano at the end of video and thats why he have that suitcase on stage you mention on your video because he leaving away, i hope i explain you whats song is about, in short: he is leaving his village and he making last party for loving people from his village for last time....also i want to add THIS WAS HIS FIRST PERFOMANCE EVER, he made song in his badroom and now is on Eurosong and he win Dora as back up because one singer give up so iconic
