Thank you so much for editing and posting your 2019 adventure on the Istrian peninsula! It brought up lots of memories from my Croatian trip of summer 2012 (Opatija in Istra, Split, and Dubrovnik). I highly recommend Croatia's coast for the same reasons you found: beautiful and inexpensive. Booze is especially affordable, too. You've inspired me to go back for a fortnight or so when these travel restrictions go away and I can once again enjoy a Croatian Airbnb experience. That was a great flat you found. I hope the two of you want to explore some more of the Dalmatian coast, too.

I am applying to travel with you :-) Chelsea as your travel partner. I am multi lingual, a dual UK and Australian passport holder ,tall , dark and handsome ;-P and friendly. One problem in 2021 is that the Govt. of Australia has , due to the global Pandemic , banned all Australians from leaving their own country until who knows when. Even North Koreans can swim across freezing rivers and Turkmenistani people can crawl under barbed wire in hostile deserts and escape from their own countries but not us here in the great down under :-0.
