Hello, since my country Chile could not qualify for the World Cup, I only have to support Croatia, which is one of my roots. In my city, Punta Arenas in the Chilean Patagonia, there are many Croatian descendants, we even have a Hrvatski Dom, a Sokol sports club with different sports including basketball and football. Kids in Croatia grow up on school playgrounds playing football for a big part of their time, especially in a smaller cities or villages, all thanks to Croatia being safe country to live in and raise kids. And since there is so many kids playing football outside it's natural that big majority of them will start to train it in some local football club since all of their friends are doing it. And this gives opportunity for talent scouting and best ones eventually go professional when they are older.

For me, the most important characteristic of our team in Qatar and on the soccer fields is dignity, and as a Croat, I am most proud of that. Our players didn't jump, they didn't fight because of the referee's mistakes, they didn't shout at every suspicious moment, they tried to be better in football and luck was on their side.

I'm from the 🇺🇸 and I've got mad love for 🇭🇷 I've always had love for 🇭🇷 but 🇭🇷 proves that is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog plus if you look at the history of soccer and Croatia they've have a tradition of soccer spanning over 100 years and they was the bulk of the great Yugoslavian teams back in the day. You know a 1965 a famous 🇭🇷 soccer player named Drazan Jerkovic did a famous speech that is still talked in Belgrade still to this day.

We do have a pool of players coming from Croatians outside Croatia so it is more than just population of Croatia, it is kind of popular to play for Croatia among Croatians who live in other countries. For example Šimunić, Petrić and Rakitić were not born in Croatia. But even with that information it is still impressive compared to larger and richer countries.

The 2018 run was a real hail Mary of a run and, although we had a better offense, the defense we have now is better. I really have a strong gut feeling we might win it all this year. In 2018 everyone was talking big and, though the final match was a mess, we didn’t quite feel there was a strong chance. Mostly because the players were too tired - which showed. We made a real transformation from a Cinderella team to a dark horse and spirits are through the roof. We got this! 😎🔥🇭🇷
