This is such a great little idea! I broke my ankle a couple of weeks ago so I'm spending a lot of time on my bum. Gloria I'm going to use a pipe cleaner. I've used them before with success for my 3yr old nephew and they wash up nice. I hope that helps.

I am currently working on the solid unicorn. I find it a little difficult and hard on my hands to use the tiny yarn and hook but I am determined to finish it lol... Maybe next I will make one with bigger yarn, yours is adorable!

I think you can, I would recommend using a larger yarn like I did. It helps you see the stitches better and handle the small pieces as you make them. It doesn't hurt to give it a try.

I bought two sets of the Red Heart unicorns. There was no way I could manage the thin yarn they supplied. I went double strands and used up all the white yarn on just one unicorn. Where can we get the needle you are using? It looks special.

I believe that is a k hook. 6.5mm the label on the amigurumi yarn calls for a 2.25mm hook. The finished size will be slightly larger. That's the only thing different. She used a smaller hook for legs and ears.

I agree, if you are making this for a small child I WOULD NOT use the toothpick I am not really sure what else you could use. I'm sorry, I'm not good at that kind of stuff.
