I love it how would you put a jar in it with a twist head?
@rhondadawnbutler8 ай бұрын
If you use a tall narrow jar, or jar with a lid that fits the diameter of 24sc at row 24. Depending on how you want to glue the head to the lid, you may want to add and extra row or two of 24. Then for the body, chain 24 and join to make a circle. Then you’ll probably want to a row or two of 24 before adding the arms for row 25. Then closer to the bottom when you start closing, insert the jar, stuff around it and Finnish closing the bottom. I’d suggest a narrow jar, cause the longer you can go before adding it the easier it will be at the end. 😊 hope that helps! I think I’ll pin this cause it’s already a popular question. Thanks for asking!! ❤️😊😍

To make this with the jar, I ended it at row 24 with 24 stitches, tied it off. Started with a chain of 30 cause a chain of 24 didn't fit around the jar. Then did 3sc, 1dec, to have 24 stitches, added the arms, then went on... Good luck!

@rhondadawnbutler2 күн бұрын
I’m not familiar with that yarn, is it a #2? You should be able to make it with any size yarn, as long as you get the hook right. Generally I find if you go down a whole number from recommended it works. So if it asks for 5.5 use 4.5 or smaller 6.5 use 5.5 or smaller Etc. if your used to the 8ply dk for amigurumi, use whatever hook you’ve been using. 👍😊❤️

But when I watch the repeat rows on the video, they don’t seem to get smaller to me. Are you doing the last row of decreases at the end of the arm? Or is it when you are stuffing the arm? To do the decrease, do you just skip a stitch? I dont understand
@rhondadawnbutler8 ай бұрын
You insert your hook in the next stitch, grab your yarn and pull up. Then insert it again in the stitch after that , grab your yarn and pull up. That should give you three loops on your hook. Then you’ll grab your yarn and pull through those three loops. (Does that help? I’m better at showing than explaining) 😊

Hmmm you’ve got me stumped on that one. But I can’t see that happening for every row. If you can’t figure it out, try adding an stitch anywhere but your last increase so you don’t get a bump.

@rhondadawnbutler9 ай бұрын
Is that for the leg? I did ten stitches instead of 12 on the last row so when it’s closed the top of the foot faces up. You want to end up on the side of the leg. So you’ll want to do how ever many stitches get you there, for me it was 10. Hope that helps 😊

@rhondadawnbutler yes the leg, your caption for row 17 total you have it ending with 12 stitches, but then you start your caption for row 18 ending in 10 with no decreases, just 10 sc. Question Does yarn under make a tighter stich? I am a yarn over crocheter, but i notice you do yarn under . Or am I mistaken?
@rhondadawnbutler8 ай бұрын
Yarn under makes a tighter and neater looking stitch. I kinda grab and twist, but the yarn technically goes over not under my way. It’s hard to tell but I’ve tried yarn under and my brain doesn’t want my hands to work that way, lol. If you can do it though the resulting stitches are really beautiful. More of an x than a v.

I've recently started crocheting these critters ( can't spell amagurami without looking it up) and I find that yuyo works best for me. It's easier on these old hands and I don't have to struggle as much as I would doing yuyu or yoyu. I always struggle with pulling that last loop through on yu. It also has me making the tightest stitch. Hope this helps.

I get my eyes off Amazon. Try searching for 18mm clear safety eyes, or 18mm glitter safety eyes. The ones I get come with the glitter discs. So there is the clear eye, glitter disk, and back. If you click on one, scroll through the photos and it should show the three different pieces. And then I just don’t use the glitter disk. @@rhondadawnbutler am at the body. Worked great, looks great. A lot bigger than the other 3 and have to get more yarn to finish the body🙂. I'm still not certain what color to use for the secondary color, afraid that using white would make it look too much like a panda. Any suggestions? The yarn is black with tiny silver sparkles, so it really doesn't look very emo gloomy. I would go with silver, but not available in the sparkly. @rhondadawnbutler6 ай бұрын
@@pamelaferguson7766 I personally like the look of bright neon/fluorescent Color’s with black, but I’m thinking that wouldn’t be very gloomy either. You could go with grey if you can’t find silver. Or if you do a blue moon, blue as the secondary color might look cool too. I’m bad at picking Color’s . I still haven’t started my dog or cat cause all I can think is grey cat/brown dog. @@rhondadawnbutler no, I'm afraid neon would not be what she wants. I might go and physically look at thread soon to see if anything "jumps out to me". Try an orange tabby cat or a blue heeler dog.
