Thank you for this! I’m adding bunny ears and shortening the strings to try and make Louise’s bunny ears from bob’s burgers. @kiarashooks444
@kiarashooks444 2 жыл бұрын
Yes!! I believe you are around the part to close the top of the bonnet? If you are at the top - then yes - do 2 regular stitches which would be 2 double crochet stitches (or whatever stitch you chose) and then on the 3rd stitch do 1 decrease. Let me know if that's where you are & I'll help 🙏🏾

At 10:08, you say “to skip one” but u skip two and then do the decrease on the third one. Is that just a personal adjustment for the bonnet or? Cuz I would like to skip one like u said, but visually I’m getting lost 😭🙏
@kiarashooks444
@kiarashooks444 Жыл бұрын
Kk!! from the timestamp you sent - i’m making 3 stitches and then 1 decrease (skip one) and then the next row i make 2 stitches and 1 decrease (skip one) ! So thats the pattern you wanna follow! sometimes ill skip 2 to close off the hat in enough time - so yeah thats personal and you can follow me there if you land in the same issue

Hi! Quick question. If I wanted to add the strap without the border, any idea how I would do that?
@kiarashooks444
@kiarashooks444 10 ай бұрын
Right! So once you are done the body of the bonnet. You prepare to make chains from the bottom corners of the bonnet. (You feed your crochet hook through the bottom corner of your bonnet - loop your yarn on your crochet hook - start making chains. Once you have completed the chains - start doing the double crochet stitch or a slip stitch for the rows OR the stitch you choose. Once you’ve completed the string row - you make a slip stitch into the bonnet and it shud be a strap! Hope that helps ❤

Hello!! 🌱 I believe you mean once you’re done the “square” shape of the bonnet. Yes - the chains you first made should still be the same amount after the 11 rows. Only until you start the top of the hat - you will be decreasing 🙏🏿 best luck

@kiarashooks444
@kiarashooks444 Жыл бұрын
Super! If you are working with chunky yarn - then you want to make sure you are measuring it against ur head and making sure it fits. Depending on the chunkiness of the yarn - if i make 30 stitches then you might only need to do 20-25 stitches. But its hard for me to know exactly.

I just started this project and I’m a bit stumped. After the chain is made to connect the 11 rowed bit together, you say to continue for 3 rows until we begin decreasing. I can’t seem to get it even after I make the 3 rows. One side is longer than the other. Did you slip stitch after each row was completed?
@kiarashooks444
@kiarashooks444 Жыл бұрын
Hihi!! Wonderful :) Kk - it sounds like you are getting stumped at fully finishing one row and then starting a new one?!! Yes! Once im approaching the end of one row - i will be doing the double crochet stitch and before i fully close the double crochet stitch - ill have 2 loops on my hook & thats when i do a slip stitch into thethe 1st stitch aka the beginning (closing the first row) Then i chain one (chain up) and i will then start the next row with a double crochet. Let me know if this helped!!! 🙏🏾🤍

okay so i have a bit of an issue. >.< for this im using mohair. i did the first 11 rows in a half double crochet. except when you finished yours, the 11 rows look taller than mine. i assume its because i used mohair? do you have any kind of measurements?
@kiarashooks444
@kiarashooks444 2 жыл бұрын
Hi hi!! 🥰 I see - for the side of the bonnet you want it to measure at 5 inches. Now this could be different - it's good to have a measure tape to measure from your chin to your hair line. This for me was 11 rows but since you are using different yarn than I am - 8-9 could be good enough for you. Let me know if that helps!

@@kiarashooks444 hey i also wondered that! at the beginning when doing the rectangle part, each time a row is finished and the crochet work is switched, one could chain two before doing the first double crochet, i think to have more room and get a neat square? As far as I can see, you dont do that. i am very much still learning but that is what i saw in other tutorials. I wonder what the difference in outcome is, really? Anyways thank u for the great tutotial! Looking forward to my bonnet
