I tried this style over the weekend (minus the individual twists) and I just love it! Thanks to you, I tried the toyokalon brand and I'm amazed how well the hair blends with mine. This is a keeper. Next time I'll try the crochet and individuals around the perimeter.

+brandy boyce You're very welcome. the hair is exactly how she described. I wore mines as crochet kinky twist. You cannot pretwist this hair on a pole/wooden dole. But you're doing the traditional way so you don't have to worry about that. I believe I got a color 540. It was basically like a number 4 (dark brown) with bright red streaks/pieces in it. The original site I ordered from didn't have the j99. I think this hair is being or has been discontinued. But I have found this EXACT same hair labeled under different brands. So no worries! It lasts a long time. I kept mines in for 3 months. I could have reused the hair but cut it out without thinking.

If you have thinner edges you might consider using a wider section around the perimeter and slicking your edges with edge control then taking section right behind the edge line to braid. I use this method with my daughter who is growing hers back.

Thanks TeeDay6, I've been wanting to do two strands twists extentions but since I can't see the back of my hair very well I was worried about making look as natural as the front. You have shown me that I can do half as a crochet twist and the other half in a two strands twist. This crochet twist can also work on those with thin extra soft hair that can't really hold these types of natural styles. Thanks for the information.
