Tried to do it myself and I cannot REALLY french braid.... So that was a challenge. I finally got it decent after a whole hr. I installed the Marley hair and twisted it . Once Iwas done I noticed that my Braids were too loose. Uuuuggghhh. certain rows look like I have new Groth and it's only day 2 kind of annoyed but I'm a rock it until it becomes noticeable to others... I tried this style over the weekend (minus the individual twists) and I just love it! Thanks to you, I tried the toyokalon brand and I'm amazed how well the hair blends with mine. This is a keeper. Next time I'll try the crochet and individuals around the perimeter.

If you have thinner edges you might consider using a wider section around the perimeter and slicking your edges with edge control then taking section right behind the edge line to braid. I use this method with my daughter who is growing hers back.

Beautiful Creative Work Dear Queen, But regarding this specific type of hair (which comes pre-sectioned) is it true that you're suppose to take each pre-sectioned hair...... pick it apart like cotton.... then put the pre-sectioned hair back together before using it (for a natural appearance??????????????????????? you have to make sure the closure piece to the crochet needle is open until you are about to pull the hair through. and make sure the needle is through your hair enough before you pull the weave through so the closure piece doesn't snag. hope that helps

I don't know much about this stuff but was curious is kind of technique is universal with all hair types? it looks really good, though time consuming, and I love that you can do this without doing something chemically damaging like dying your hair (I refuse to since the few times I dyed it, my hair was fried and took two years to grow it all out) also I have this nervous tick..like a skin picking issue and I kind of feel like this would possibly be a decent idea to try since I wouldn't have full on access to my scalp..haha I don't know. just a white girl with plain, wavy brown hair..probably have no idea what I'm talking about. but I am curious-how damaging is this to your hair? I assume the only thing iffy would be the hook? and do you need to have a certain length for this to work?

Hello there. I am going to attempt to do this style next week. Two questions. Does it really matter which direction to twist the hair? The twists came out so perfect and I noticed you twist counter-clockwise. I am a lefty as well but for some reason I tend to automatically twist clockwise and feel more comfortable doing so. But I will come out of my comfort zone to achieve the perfect twist. Lastly, how many pre-portioned portions did you use per twist to achieve each individual twist size shown in your hair (hope that made sense) lol. Thank you for sharing and the inspiration :)

Like big Marley twists EXCEPT you don't have to twist the two strands and twist them together (like Senegalese). Just want a hair that will allow for big twist without so much wrist action.
