There a reverse to this also. It’s called the farm house stitch. Start with slip stitch the half double. And repeating

I love this one so much. Thank you! I've made 3 of them but they don't seem to lie as flat as yours. Do you know if there is a corner to corner pattern for this stitch? My squares tend to come out a lot better when I use the corner to corner method.

Maybe! I am sort of new to the corner to corner game. The curling is likely from a tight tension issue. You could try going up a hook size and seeing if that helps. Also, wet blocking will clear the curling right up. (Just dampen the washcloth, and pin it to shape and let it air dry - this should do the trick!)

Is it faster for you to yarn over using your hand to do each cast? I grab my yarn with the hook and pull it through. Maybe that is the European way of doing it? Also, is this basically the uneven moss stitch?
