im brushing the stuff with a hard brush but not really getting fluffy like yours did i used cotton but still should fluff up
@GoodEffortMeg
@GoodEffortMeg 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by hard brush, but if the bristles are close together I think it should be okay. I will say it took me A LOT of brushing to get it to a point I was happy with. I think each bit I brushed and fluffed for like 15 minutes. So it was not a terribly quick process. Also, I would recommend looking at my Eevee video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/enK5k5JvjbKAhsk), you can skip to like the 29:14 mark, and I show you a little bit more of the combing process because that was my first time trying it. I hope that helps!

that was the leftover stuff from the neck for the mohawk? how did u attach it? and the tail did u add it on the added parts from start to finish on it?
@GoodEffortMeg
@GoodEffortMeg 2 жыл бұрын
So the mohawk is the yarn that came out while fluffing the tail and neck bits. I attached it using the needle felting tool, however, I think a great alternative would be fabric glue or even hot glue. To make the shape, I just combed it out and trimmed and "molded" it into the shape I was happy with.

where are u from? the hook sizes and yarns always get me i did a 3.25 might do a 4 next make it a bit bigger was your hook in mm
@GoodEffortMeg

I live in the US, however, I am partial to the metric system because my background is in engineering and you quickly learn how precise and simple conversions are in the metric system vice imperial. I will start including both in my descriptions from this point forward. So the 3.125mm hook that I used in this video is also a size D, if you try searching that way. No worries with increasing the hook size, just ensure that the yarn you use is also compatible so that your stitches stay tight. If they don't, you will see the stuffing at the end. I did that a lot when I was first learning, didn't bother me much but want to make sure you know ahead of time :)

how did u do they tail? did u add strands to the end then fluff them to?
@GoodEffortMeg
@GoodEffortMeg 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, so I attached like 9nine 8-ish inch strands to the base of the tail and then combed it out and trimmed it to shape. :)

how does stabbing it with the tool keep the fluff in the crochet tail and head?
@GoodEffortMeg
@GoodEffortMeg 2 жыл бұрын
So, the felting tool has tiny prongs along it as I can tell. I believe the way it works is when you stab something with the felting tool it like tangles the fibers together. This is just my theory though.

why does most pokemon have to have felt on it lol
@GoodEffortMeg
@GoodEffortMeg 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think you have you use it. I just really wanted to try it because I have also seen it used readily in other amigurumi patterns and love learning new techniques. Again, though, I don't think it is something you have to use to get adorable pokemon :)

@@GoodEffortMeg what could u use instead? u need to crochet black instead.i have noticed in the pattern im looking sat the colours are diffrent to what u are using lol. I have a pokemon crochet book i like only thing i dont like is they all have felt for alot of there parts. Even heaps of patterns i do find. and the ones i find that dont use felt really dont look like a pokemon

@@starrspoter Yeah, so a lot of my colors are different mainly because I have a large stash of yarn at home. I try my best to go through that before I purchase any new yarn. So, mine might be close but not exact. If you have experience with crochet, I think you could freehand the shapes that would normally be felt. I will try and do one of these future Eevee-lutions that way so I can show you how it can be done. When I was first starting out with crochet, I even painted those parts with acrylic because I didn't know how to use felt and wasn't confident in free-handing lol.

@GoodEffortMeg
@GoodEffortMeg 2 жыл бұрын
@@starrspoter Haha awesome and good luck with the search! I think if you had a fine-toothed comb it might work - definitely worth trying before going out and buying one. I don't think a wide-bristle brush would work though.
