I would like to know if I use a 4dk yarn is it changes the pattern a lot for a 4ft tree thank you for your time and tutorial it's very pretty

It will change the overall size. I’ve seen people do that with this pattern however!

I submitted a comment to your website regarding this tree skirt, but figured I might get an answer quicker if I posted it here as well, so . . . here it is below . . . I’m having issues with this tree skirt. I’ve completed up to Row 22, and I want to go larger, but when I laid out what I’ve completed so far, it doesn’t look right. My “pizza slice” gap is way too big. Mine looks more like 3 “pizza slices” were taken out. I’ve followed the pattern precisely, using a Q (15.75mm) size hook, and being absolutely sure that my slip stitch rows are very loose. The only difference I can see is that I’m not using the same exact yarn that you used in the video. I’m using Bernat Softee Chunky, which is still a 6 weight yarn, so I’m not sure what exactly I’m doing wrong. I’m trying to complete two of these 58″ tree skirts before the end of this month (Nov). One is for my Christmas tree, and I’d like to gift the other one to my sister before she gets her tree put up, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to mention that I also used 2 strands of yarn in mine, just as you did.

I replied on the blog before I saw this one - but what I suggested is potentially going up a hook size. Were you able to meet gauge with a Q hook?
@MissJojo768221 күн бұрын
@CozyNooksDesigns Thank you so much for replying. I guess I'm just going to leave this one as it is for now, set it aside, and I'll start on the second one and go up a hook size to see if that works before I go through the daunting task of unraveling all of the first one. Thanks again. 😀
@CozyNooksDesigns21 күн бұрын
@@MissJojo7682 Sorry you have to do that! Thankfully this one shouldn't be too hard to unravel bc it doesn't stick to itself. 🤞
@MissJojo768216 күн бұрын
@CozyNooksDesigns Thank you so much. I went ahead and began the second one, but went up to an 18 mm hook. I'm just finishing up the last few rows and it's looking wonderful! So once I'm finished this one, I'm going to unravel the first one and begin it over again, this time using the 18 mm.

It's a beautiful tree skirt but I was wondering. Is there a yarn substitute that's just like Wooly's thick and quick. but doesn't have the wool., I'm allergic to wool

I am working on a non-wool yarn review video! Hopefully I’ll have it out by next week

Do you make button holes or loops? You didn't explain the button part.
@CozyNooksDesigns Жыл бұрын
The dc are big enough that it acts as a button hole. ❤️

Love this pattern Thank you I don't have a 15.5 hook can I use one strand of 6 bulky yarn ?
@CozyNooksDesigns2 жыл бұрын
It will drastically change the gauge of the pattern. Do you have a 15mm or 16mm?

How do you finish it off with attaching the buttons??
@CozyNooksDesigns2 жыл бұрын
ASSEMBLY AND BUTTONS Attach buttons along one edge of the skirt. For the 42” skirt, attach 5 buttons, 6 buttons if you make the 50”, and 7 buttons if you made the 58” skirt. The buttons are spaced every other row and the last button should be attached on the end of Row 18, 22, or 26. Insert the button into a dc st on the opposite side of the “circle” to close. Hi! How do you keep your working yarn from twisting as you go? Mine is all twisted up and I have to keep trying to untwist it as I work.
@CozyNooksDesigns11 ай бұрын
Do you pull from the center? That’s what I like to do. Or you could get two yarn bowls and use them to keep it untangled.

Would it be okay to use a blanket extra thick yarn in place of the 2 strands? My blanket extra thick yarn says to use a U crochet hook, but I have only a T hook available. Would that work as well?
@CozyNooksDesigns Жыл бұрын
I think it would! Check your gauge before you dive in, but I think it may be okay.

You can buy it directly from Lion Brand Yarn, but I've had luck at Michaels. And when you can use a coupon with it, it's gold!
