@@KindabamCrochet am already an addict lol. I strongly believe crochet can be used in rehab, cause it helped me through difficult times, when one is crocheting you leave the world behind and nothing else matters but getting those stitches perfectly done. Crochet is a blessing to the human mind.

Thanks so much Blk Rose🌹 The yarn is called "Create Handmade" (and it can be bought on line). I used two strands of this yarn to get the 8 ply thickness for the doll body & only one strand for the clothing ... all with the 3mm hook. Hi Joanne, I'm in Australia & bought the yarn from one of our BigW stores. But I also saw that it's available on-line from a few suppliers. It's called "Create Handmade" 4 ply crochet cotton and has now become my favourite to use. I actually use 2 strands of this cotton to create the 8ply thickness needed for the 3mm hook. The skin colour on the dolls is made with various yarns from different stores. The larger looking dolls were made with 100% 8ply cotton. This yarn was a store brand called "Spotlight" and the smaller looking dolls were made with a blended yarn of cotton & wool using the "Patons" brand. The steel hook that I use in my first few videos was bought as a set from a local discount store. The orange handle hook is a brand called "Clover" which I bought from Amazon. I only ever used the steel hooks in the past, but now that I've tried this clover brand, I'll be saving up for a set 😉.

@@KindabamCrochet Well thanks for all the info. Do you think lightweight worsted dk weight in acrylic or 100% cotton again in dk weight would work? Isn't 8 ply quite thick like regular worsted weight? Which is better to use - the dk or the worsted weight? From the video it appears that the yarn you are using is lightweight dk style.
@KindabamCrochet
@KindabamCrochet 4 жыл бұрын
@@joannegee1650You're welcome. I prefer to use the 100% cotton as it gives the doll a little stiffness & feels & looks smoother. Yes the 8ply is quite thick, but works perfectly for the doll body, creating nice tight stitches. I personally love to experiment with different yarns because they each create a different look, so feel comfortable to try out with whatever you have. If you are using the dk, you will need to use two strands of this so that it will still have the thickness of the worsted weight. For the clothing I would use 100% dk cotton, and you would only use the one strand. In the video for Bella's Beanie, I show the cotton that I use: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYTJc4h6eq16fKM
