Be careful....it can become an obsession that ends with 6 banana boxes and a couple of rolling cases full of yarn you got on sale!! Sadly...I got hooked... back in 1968 as a girl...and now it has bred daily knitting socks (useful and needed) and making crochet Turkey hats (to embarrass your sons with)...unicorns that MUST have at least 10 different colors...for each 10 inch strand of mane and tail...so you must buy the biggest thing of red heart savers...then hide them under the bed rather than be shamed for MORE yarn. OF course you need all those colors because you might be so good at making unicorns...you start a business....LOL! Never mind you only need about a yard of each color... it was a bargain.

It took me all day to make my first one. Then I switched to a courser yarn, (the cheaper the better it holds it’s shape), and don’t be afraid of getting the stitches nice and tight! You might need a smaller size hook to get them tight enough. You’ll now what will work best for you after you finish just one. You’ll be able to do the second one much nicer in an hour or two! If you have five granddaughters under the age of six, like I do you can get them done in a week! You’ll need another week to do the dress and hair though!

Lorelai Snow I implore you to do more research on the matter. While you could practice it, it would be disrespectful because it originated from people connecting to their home during the transatlantic slave trade. I think it is important to research and understand the practice and I think it is ok to modify certain aspects to match your own craft but not anything fundamental.

A simpler way to do it is to just make a slip knot, chain two, and put your hook through the first loop of your chain. Next, you yarn over and do one single crochet. Then, just repeat that process and make as many single crochets to your liking through that same loop. This will form a circle. Hope that’s helpful!

When I was 5 years old I sat at my grandma's feet with my yarn first yarn in hand!! and I've been crocheting ever since in 62 as of last summer. very good instructions on these dolls. I have a friend that makes them, and I just wanted to know what the Stitch was. AS mine Stich looked different an I was curious . I get it now. I do animals among other things. Sweaters ,blankets, stuffed animals, blankets hand puppets, dolls, Lace , if I have a needle and yarn I can make almost anything I made a dragon horse scales Wings and all it's amazing it's sitting on the young ladies room she named it fluffy. If that wasn't enough I created a monster truck that had his tires come off and he could change the tires because the bugs were separated in his favorite color and if that wasn't good enough I put a dog in the back so the boy could have a dog in the back of his truck. while haven't taken the master class ,I have a friend that has challenged me to. well you were doing your doll I made a cat with your pattern it's going to go with another doll that I'm making that 27in it will be a pair of dolls with clothes embedded in them as well as working parts but I'm not one to put the plastic guys in I always sew my eyes and facial features on and my legs and arms move on all of my features that I make for stuffed animals except for the puppet only the front arms move. I clap this project thank you have a friend that might really enjoy these dolls in her shop if I was up to doing them for her. It is a marvelous class that you just did thank you very very much
