I am so glad I found the Lovecrafts website for yarn and other crochet and knitting products. They always have a sale on some yarn up to 75% off. The Red Heart soft baby steps yarn on this video is only £1.99 per 100g ball. Just amazing as this is super soft baby yarn. They have many other brands too. Cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere. www.lovecrafts.com?a_aid=2aeb6671 *Some links may be affiliate links which will allow me to make a small commission on any products purchased through my recommendation. Try and go through 2 strands and the v sitich goes into the valley part between the fans. Just shove your yarn through the top of the double.

Hi Alison from Philadelphia again! You're videos are not only methodical and clear....but so calm and distressing! I am supposed to be grocery shopping for my family, but instead took time out to follow your lovely stitching! I don't know if you get this brand in your area, but I had some Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend laying around and used that for my practice swatch and it came out beautiful! Comfy Cotton Blend is machine washable and dryable and even though it tends to split somewhat....it works up great for baby items! Have a wonderful day and thank you for your post!

@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel4 жыл бұрын
I just hold it so im comfortable, everyone finds their own way. Just pick yours up dont think about how you hold it and just work. Don't try to copy how others hold it because it might not be comfortable for you. If you stop thinking about how to hold it and just go for it that might help a lot. I jst say no one sees you much when your at home crocheting so hold it the way you want and is comfortable.

Forever grateful if you can help.It’s for my granddaughter’s Xmas play.

Google FREE vintage knitting pixi hat, also here is a site with free hats you need to look for the pixi type your looking for but there are many vintage and FREE sites. Old vintage patterns shouldnt be sold as they become free to download but not to sell. So etsy sellers selling photocopies of very old vintage patterns shouldn't be doing it, you coan sell origional patterns if you have a proper old printed one but you cant copy them and sell them on. look here for the free downloads of hats www.woollywormhead.com/free-patterns

I wonder if you can help with my confusion over how many rows do get to do the half fan of 5 trebles? I am thinking it’s a 2 row repeat as suggested but when doing 2 row repeat the half fan only showed in the first set of green rows, I did not do a half fan again in the rest of tutorial , it’s me I know but can’t see where I’m going wrong .
@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel3 жыл бұрын
you need the half fan to stagger the green if I remember correctly its every 3rd row the beginning fan is 4 stitches and so is the end one of that row. If you watch the video again. I am intrigued to ask if yours worked out without the half fan to make them stagger in and out? or did it build one fan right on top of each other? or did you just end up with a gap at the begining of the row that staggers in (on mine its the green)

I never end on a double crochet, what am I going wrong?
@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel4 жыл бұрын
You must have 1 stitch less, no matter if you are on your 1st row working on the chain. Use the tail end to make 1 more stitch then finish on your double. I do it all the time, sometimes a stitch gets lost under the big fan as it pulls tight on the stitches next to it as you do your 8 stitches to make the fan. if its not right at the begining tell me where you are when out.

Thanks...I started over three times...thinking i did it wrong! So far I've done 7 white fans and I'm starting the 7th in papaya...red heart comfort...your patterns have challenged me in so many ways! I thought my fiber work was done when I couldn't knit anymore. Now crochet keeps me company! 3 afghans and counting since May!

Its in stitch books and on KZbin. You could google fan stitch crochet patterns to find a written version. I use a 500 stitch pattern book get those on amazon

Does anybody know how much grams of yarn would be needed to make this for a baby blanket? Just curious, before I get started. I don’t want to run out of yarn half way through. 😅 Thanks in advance.

if you are going to do 2 colours the 200g of each will make a decent size of about 15 shells wide, (make a long chain do your shells then stop when you are happy with the width ( snip off the remaning chan about 6 inches away from the blanket if you have a long chain left, then pick out the remainder to the edge of your work)If you dont have enough use the tail end to make more chains) thats what I do at home so I don't have to stitch count.

Alison Russell's Crochet and Craft Channel thank you very much. I will be using 2 colors. I believe I have 300 grams of each color. Can’t wait to get started.

How do you think it would look if it was done using the caron cakes or self striping yarn? Tia

@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel I value you're opinion so as soon as I'm able to.make it, I think I'll just do a swatch to see how it looks, I'll share a pic with you and the group❤

@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel That's ok and I so love your tutorials. And God bless you Ms. Alison. I've been making afghans for nursing homes, abuse shelter, etc. I realized I still don't have one for myself. Lol. Thought I would do this one.
