I am so glad I found the Lovecrafts website for yarn and other crochet and knitting products. They always have a sale on some yarn up to 75% off. The Red Heart soft baby steps yarn on this video is only £1.99 per 100g ball. Just amazing as this is super soft baby yarn. They have many other brands too. Cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere. @t *Some links may be affiliate links to keep my channel running costs down. Exactly correct. There’s no right or wrong way to crochet. We all have to learn to adjust the way we can manage due to health issues. I can’t walk ‘properly’… I do it my way. ❤❤❤

Good morning Allison I’m in the U.S. and love your work. This pattern is one of the prettiest motifs I’ve seen in a while. I can see myself making lots of blankets using it. Thank you so much for bringing it to us. One more thing, people seem to forget that we are all individuals and do things differently. That difference does not mean that we are wrong. I have arthritis in my hands too and understand that you have to find a way to hold your yarn and crochet hook or knitting needles that’s less painful and allows you to do something you enjoy doing. Happy crocheting 🤗
@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi, HoniBear, I always found it hard to hold the hook and yarn high with my fingers like other videos, My mother held her hook like I do she said no need to strain yourself to make something nice. Like Tea biscuits were not all the same. So I would advise everyone ALWAYS hold it the way it's comfortable no matter how silly it looks if it works for you then do it. No one sees how you hold your hook and yarn when your at home so it makes no diffrence. It can put a lot of people off holding it the way others do in a tutorial. They think if they can't hold it that way they must be doing it wrong which nitself is wrong. Always hold it the way you want its you that is doing it so you might as well be comfortable. thank you for your lovely comment.

Love all your patterns Alison. I was looking for something to use as a centre piece for a crocheted craft bag made up if African flower hexagons. I've crocheted your flower square but changed it to a hexagon and added another little 3d flower into the centre doing three dc's to make it smaller to reflect the larger one. Hope you don't mind me hacking your pattern. It was meant as a compliment to your original. Keep giving us more inspiration. I've crocheted and knitted nearly sixty years and still love to learn. Thanks from a fellow crafter and Scots woman 😆.

I love how you crochet and explain so easy plus the way you hold your fingers. I do the same way, it hurts me to hold my pointer up like others do. I taught my granddaughter the same way and the teacher she went to told her she was holding your hands wrong. that upset me, I believe you do what is comfortable. love your videos.

I have to agree with you on the holding of your work. I hold mine like you, as I too have arthritis. I do hold my hook like a pen though but that’s because that is what is most comfortable for me . There is no wrong or right way and it’s not for anyone to tell you there is, what is right for you is right. 😻😻love your work by the way 😻😻

I agree, Jaqui after the crocodile blanket I just uploaded I had to stop for 3 days. I do my work and edit then upload it at a later date just so I have something to keep the cannel running when my hands hurt too much but I won't give up.

You are so welcome! always hold it so you are comfortable, I hurt my hands if I try to copy someone else so now I don't bother. it makes no difference how you hold the yarn or hook you will find your own way and you will see if your work is too slack to go down a size hook or go up if its too tight. What works for one person doesn't always work for another.
