This was very nice for several reasons. The pace of your instruction; not adjusting speed or rewinding to catch what is being done, explanations of what is being done and why, and last but not least, no annoying music in the background, just instruction....well done. Plus it's a beautiful square.

I am a knitter but I also learned how to crochet as a child. Even though I much prefer knitting, I am embarking on a crochet project. My sister-in-law, a crocheter, died suddenly recently leaving behind her stash of yarn and a pregnant granddaughter. I took the yarn with the idea of making a blanket of some kind for her great-grandchild on the way and as most of her stash is leftover yarn from her other afghan projects, I decided to make granny squares (which I already knew how to do) and join them together in random order. I have never actually joined granny squares into a project so I set out to learn how to do that and found your square that is so beautiful and not your average basic granny square. Your tutorial is perfect for me and once I have used up all the yarn making them I will venture into your others to actually make the blanket. Thank you so much for making this project possible for me. I wanted the blanket to be unique ( which it will be with the small amounts of some of the yarns) and very obvious that is is made out of GG's yarns. I hope it to be something for the baby to treasure as coming from the GG that it will never know.

It's so touching to hear about your project to create a special blanket for your great-niece or nephew, using the yarn left by your late sister-in-law. Your idea to combine the granny squares made from her stash into a unique, meaningful blanket is a beautiful tribute to her memory. It's wonderful that you're embracing crochet for this project, despite your preference for knitting, to maintain that connection. I'm delighted to know that my tutorial for the granny square has been helpful to you. It's great that you're planning to make each square unique and then learn how to join them together. This blanket will undoubtedly be a treasured keepsake, carrying the love and legacy of a great-grandmother they didn’t get to meet. Remember, the beauty of such a project lies not only in the finished piece but also in the love, memories, and stories interwoven with each stitch. Your sister-in-law’s craft will continue to warm and comfort a new generation, thanks to your dedication and skill. Please feel free to reach out if you need any more help as you progress with your project. I would love to hear more about your journey in making this very special blanket. Best wishes on this heartfelt endeavor, Marie

Beautiful pattern! I don't really understand round 3 because you do two double crochet between the stitches and then one in the stitch, that makes a total of 51 stitches. Right? But that's to much so it gets a bit wonky. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??!!!???!

Kolay gelsin! 🧶✨

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m thrilled you found the presentation helpful. 😊 You can definitely use polyester yarn with a 3mm or 2mm hook for your clutch bag. It might make the square a bit smaller and denser, but it will still work beautifully. With the smaller hook and yarn, your square might turn out a bit smaller, but it should still be lovely for your clutch. I’m excited for your project and hope your daughter loves it! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. ❤👜

Hi, thank you so much for this tutorial❤ It was easy to follow and I already made twenty five of these squares 😅 I want to try to make a cardigan with them but i'm having trouble joining them 😢 Do you have any tips and tricks on how to make it easier and smoother? Thanks in advance! Love your videos ❤
@AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet Ай бұрын
Hi! I’m so glad you found the tutorial helpful and that you’ve made twenty-five squares-wow, that’s amazing! ❤ For joining your squares into a cardigan, here are some tips to make it easier and smoother: Join with a Slip Stitch or Sc: You can use a slip stitch or single crochet to join the squares together. Slip stitches create a flatter seam, while single crochet provides a bit more stability. Align Squares Carefully: Lay out your squares in the desired pattern and align the edges neatly before joining. This helps ensure a more even and smooth join. Use a Whip Stitch: For a more seamless look, you can use a whip stitch to hand-sew the squares together on the wrong side. Joining Rows: When joining in rows, it can help to join them in sections rather than all at once. This makes it easier to manage and align the squares. Seam Placement: Make sure to place seams in less noticeable areas, like under arms or along edges, to minimize visibility. Block Your Squares: Blocking your squares before joining can help them lay flatter and make the joining process smoother. I hope these tips help! Feel free to reach out if you need more assistance. Thank you for your kind words and happy crafting! 😊🧶

I'm thrilled to hear that your daughter loves the boho top!🥰 Well done on completing it. If you want to make a bigger size, adding an extra round to each square is a great approach. It will increase the overall size of the garment effectively. Just ensure each square is consistent in size and stitch count as you add the extra round. @AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'm glad you found the explanation helpful. To make smaller squares for your crop top, you can try the following: Use a smaller hook: Switching to a smaller crochet hook will create tighter, smaller stitches. Thinner yarn: Using thinner yarn will also result in a smaller square. Experiment with these options to see what works best for your project. Happy crocheting, and enjoy making your crop top! 😊

@AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much 🥰I'm glad you find the square beautiful! Extending the square to make it larger is a great idea. Yes, one straightforward way to make the square larger is to repeat Round 7 multiple times. This will add additional rounds of double crochets, increasing the size of your square. Experimenting with different variations can lead to unique and beautiful results. Enjoy expanding your square, and happy crocheting! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

Hello, in the last bit of the tutorial you mentioned that you can block the square to make it more straight. If I may ask how do you do the block please?
@AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet 2 ай бұрын
Hello! Blocking is a great way to help your square lay flat and have crisp edges. Here’s a simple method to block your crochet square: Wash Your Square: Gently hand wash your square in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. This helps to relax the fibers. Rinse and Squeeze: Rinse the square thoroughly in clean water and gently squeeze out excess water without wringing or twisting. Pin to Shape: Lay the square flat on a clean towel or blocking mat. Use rust-proof pins to pin the edges and corners into place, shaping it as you go. Make sure it’s as even and straight as possible. Allow to Dry: Let the square dry completely while it’s pinned. This can take several hours or overnight depending on the yarn and humidity. Remove Pins: Once it’s fully dry, carefully remove the pins. Your square should now have a nice, straight shape! I hope this helps! If you have any more questions about blocking or anything else, feel free to ask. 😊🧶

It sounds like you might be missing a stitch or two somewhere along the way. Double-check your stitch count at the end of each round and make sure you're adding the correct number of stitches into each space. It might also help to count your stitches as you go. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to describe where you’re getting stuck, and I’d be happy to help further! 😊🔍

I loved the pattern. Can you please help me how to join the willow granny square. Thanks
@AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet 4 ай бұрын
I'm glad you loved the pattern!🥰 Joining Willow Granny Squares can be done in several ways, depending on the look you want for your project. Here's a basic method to join them: Arrange Squares: Lay out your Willow Granny Squares in the desired pattern, ensuring they are all facing the same direction. Whip Stitch: Thread a yarn needle with yarn of the same color as your squares. Insert the needle through the corner stitch of one square and then through the corresponding corner stitch of the adjacent square. Continue this whip stitch along the edges, working from corner to corner. Continue Joining: Once you reach the end of one side, secure the yarn with a knot, leaving a tail to weave in later. Repeat this process for each side of the square until they are all joined together. Weave in Ends: Once all the squares are joined, weave in any remaining yarn tails to secure them and trim off any excess. Alternatively, you can join squares using slip stitches, single crochet, or even crocheting them together as you go if you prefer. Experiment with different joining methods to find the one you like best for your project. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Can I use a smaller hook in doing the SS when joining the edges?
@AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet Ай бұрын
Yes, you can definitely use a smaller hook for the slip stitch when joining the edges. This can help create a neater and tighter join, which might be especially useful if you want a more polished finish. Just make sure to keep your stitches even so that the join looks smooth. Happy crocheting! 😊🧶

How can I make them bigger and wider. Please help me. Thank u
@AdoreCreaCrochet
@AdoreCreaCrochet 3 ай бұрын
To make your granny square bigger and wider, you can adjust the number of rounds you crochet or the number of stitches in each round. Here are a few ways to achieve this: Add More Rounds: Simply continue crocheting additional rounds beyond what the pattern specifies. Each round will add height and width to your granny square. You can stop increasing the size when your square reaches the desired dimensions. Use Thicker Yarn or Larger Hook: Another option is to use thicker yarn or a larger crochet hook, which will naturally create larger stitches and a larger granny square. Experiment with these techniques to customize the size of your granny square to fit your preferences. Happy crocheting! 🌟🧶

I am making a king size blanket using your beautiful instructions. I am now on my 30th square 🤦🏻‍♀️But absolutely loving it. It’s been getting me through one of the hardest periods of my life as my partner battles cancer and I sit and crochet in various waiting rooms and cancer treatment room. I start the square with a magic circle and then double crochet 16 into it and then straight into the pattern from row 2. You can make your first knot which is a slip knot and work straight into that circle. You can then pull it tight at the end of the first 16 double crochets ❤

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with getting only three corners despite following the instructions carefully. Crochet can be tricky sometimes, especially when learning new patterns. It's great that you're determined to keep practicing! One thing you might want to double-check is your stitch count at the end of each round. Ensure that you have the correct number of stitches between each corner. Sometimes, missing or adding a stitch can affect the shape of your work. Remember, practice makes perfect, and with persistence, you'll master the pattern in no time. Keep up the great work, and happy crocheting! 😊🧶

Hey there😊. Now you don't have to be too hard on yourself. All new learning takes time. And everyone can learn how to crochet granny squares. I can easily understand that your patience is wearing thin, but don't give up. The most important thing in the first instance is to take the time to look and listen carefully to the instructions. Feel free to pause while you then try yourself. And feel free to repeat again a few times until you have it completely under control. Once you learn it, you won't forget it again, it's a bit like riding a bike. Have fun and enjoy the process of learning❤😊

Hi Adore I’ve just made 8 of your beautiful willow squares your explanation and patience to do this from beginning to end was just a wonderful stress free experience for me. I wanted to incorporate the squares into making a long skirt for my daughter and she picked out a pattern in which I have no idea how to make . She wants this flowy dainty skirt w the squares but I just do not know how to make the surrounding area to crochet the squares to and I’ve never even made a skirt before. Do you know of any tutorial sites that can guide me?. I’ve looked all over online , lots of short granny skirts but nothing w squares that are within another pattern. My daughter had showed me the Western lacy skirt in which there’s no tutorial for, she saw the photo online. They sell the pattern but I need to visually see the directions in a video in order to make it.

Hi there! It's wonderful to hear that you've successfully made 8 beautiful willow squares, and I'm delighted that my tutorials were helpful to you.❤😊 Creating a flowy, dainty skirt using those squares and incorporating them into a unique pattern can be a fun project. To find the specific tutorial you're looking for, you might want to consider a few options: KZbin Tutorials: KZbin is a great resource for finding crochet tutorials. You can search for "crochet skirt with squares" or "crochet skirt pattern" to see if there are any videos that match your project. You can also check channels of well-known crochet instructors who may have similar projects. Crochet Pattern Websites: Websites like Ravelry, LoveCrafts, and Etsy often have a wide variety of crochet patterns available for purchase. You can search for crochet skirt patterns there. Some patterns may include square motifs, or you could adapt an existing pattern to incorporate your willow squares. Crochet Forums and Communities: Consider joining online crochet forums or communities, like the ones on Ravelry or Reddit's r/crochet. You can ask for advice, share your project idea, and request recommendations for specific patterns or tutorials. Remember that crochet projects can often be adapted and customized to suit your needs. Even if you can't find an exact tutorial for the Western lacy skirt, you may be able to combine elements from various tutorials and adapt them to your squares. Good luck with your project, and I hope your daughter's skirt turns out to be a beautiful and cherished creation! 😊🧶
