Hey Lia! I've been wearing braids for very long time. I NEVER take my hair down dry, EVER. After I cut the extensions as close as I can, I put 3 parts cheap conditioner & 1 water in a pointy tip squeeze bottle and saturate my hair & scalp. You want your hair slippery. It makes the leftover hair slip off the cornrows and it makes it hella easier to undo the cornrows. If your hair starts to dry before you finish, mist it with water. It's makes the process go much faster & you minimize breakage when you comb/brush your hair out. After that wash, deep condition & style.

Omg Lia- I have cut my hair by accident too! I’m glad I’m not the only one whose made that mistake. My impatient butt has not only done it once but twice 🤦🏾♀️. Horrible feeling when you fight for every inch of growth lol. And I think we all have that Walmart bag on the side to put our take down hair in 😉😆

Same! I accidentally cut one of my own braids while chopping of my crotchet Boho Braids. My hairdresser has to do all kinds of tricks to keep my real hair hidden because it's so long and apparently the end of one cornrow had slipped out at some point and I didn't notice because it was the same color and almost same length as my Boho braids. The only reason I even noticed was because the tips of my crotchets were a light auburn color and as my "pile" of crochet hair grew on the bed next to me (yaaaas girl I had the Walmart bag lol🙌), I noticed that one braid was completely black so I picked it up and looked at it closely and that's when I realized it was MY HAIR😱😭😭😭 almost 10 inches 😭😭😭 Lucky for me it was a small cornrow on edge near my ear and I still had about 7 inches left on it, and my hair is so thick that you couldn't tell when I brushed it out. But still, that was paaaiiin😭😭 I kept the braid for a week cuz I just couldn't let go of it lol

So today after watching this video and commenting for the second time. This time I have crochet in my hair. My reason for watching your take down video along with tastepink. My reason for watching was to see if there was something you do to take care of your hair as you take down your braids after taking out the crochet.

Hi Lia! Ok, so I have been following you for a few years now and I love your videos. Now that you are in your new place, I notice you have a knack for great interior design. I was just about to ask you where you got those two silver lamps when it dawned on me that you should have affiliate links to those lamps! I'm sure others are wondering the same thing; if not for the lamps then for some other cute things you have around your home. You should definitely be doing affiliate links for EVERYTHING that we can see while we watch your videos; links to the kind of camera you use, the outfit you're wearing, the comforter set, even that pretty plant! Girl, you ARE an influencer. We come to your videos for crochet hair reviews and try-on hauls but we come to see you too! It's your personality that draws us in and I think you should really take advantage of that. And, btw, where DID you get those lamps? Ok, long post! Lol! Thanks for another great video! Stay safe and healthy!
@LiaLavon4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The thing about me is I buy so much for Home Goods and TJMaxx that since they don’t really have true online shopping and each store it’s different it would be impossible to affiliate link. For example those lamps came from Ross lol. But I will definitely link as much as I can when I do my house tour video and it’s a great idea about the equipment linking.

Giiiirl. Them scissors stay in my head. I will pull those loops up and boom scissors. I dont think I've ever not cut all the way to the bottom lol. The install and taking the hair out is not problem to me. My problem would be is taking those stupid braids out. When they aren't fresh....like that side by side you did....wheeeew them braids get raggedy. I literally take a whole weekend to do this. The braids and the brushing out. I be over it. Quick question though, how much hair comes out when you brush and take out your braids
@LiaLavon4 жыл бұрын
I hate take down weekends. And not a lot of hair but their is definitely some shedding.

I dont think Ive cut my hair during a takedown. I usually cut enough and just start taking the braids out since the hair will fall. Lol I will never go past 6 weeks with my crochets because my hair will start to mat and I freak out. Happened my 1st crochet install and never again lol

I love crochet hair, but the main problem that I have is that my natural hair underneath sheds so much. Does anyone have tips on how to care/maintain your natural hair while wearing crochet? I know these are supposed to be protective styles but it’s not working out. Or, maybe I’m not doing enough.
@TheeModeeModShow4 жыл бұрын
Wash at least 1x week,blow dry, use oils and liquid leave in. Ummm I've been obsessed with the mane choice ancient Egyptian oil my hair hardly sheds when I use it regularly! And healthy lifestyle habits that promotes healthy hair!
@maryjflanagan19224 жыл бұрын
I use Glover's shampoo soap, Shea Moisture Restore castor oil with ACV shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner, Let's Jam extra hold gel and Blue Magic Castor Oil grease when braiding and for my scalp in between my braids, I use a homemade castor, olive, tea tree, lavender oil mix. My hair was very short with dry scalp and heavy shedding. I don't put any more chemicals on my hair. Sometimes, I don't even add crochet hair. I may braid box braids then add cuban twist hair to those and put it in a ponytail for a couple of weeks. The longest time which I've worn crochet braids is 3 weeks. I can't go wothout washing my hair. Conditioner before take down males it less slippery and shed a little less.
