Do you count the ending slip stitch as a stitch? I keep getting 33 stitches instead of 32 if I do

Hi! Join with a slip stitch to the 1st single crochet. It should equal 32 total. Check that you are starting in the 2nd chain from your hook and skipping a chain when doing the sc2tog. I hope that helps!😊
