Great tutorial and pattern! Super simple for a beginner like me to understand. I used bulkier yarn & a size 6.5mm hook to keep it tight, and it worked really well! Made a blue one just in time for Valentine’s Day for my hubby. 💙

I did a scarf pattern once, all in double crochet. It looked wonky but I kept going....all the way finished, I was like, what is wrong? That's when I learned UK double crochet is US single crochet! Lol....I still have to listen carefully if going by a video. I hear dc and I'll yarn over every time! Thanks for video, very nice heart. I'm making cotton wash cloths and coasters with mine.

My local hospital has asked knitters to make these so they can give one to covid patients and one to their family, so they can think of eachother because they can't have visitors. I thought that was lovely. I've only just learned to crochet so I'm hoping I can get it right, I've only made granny squares up to now.

If I were to expand this into a blanket, who much would I need to increase?
@bellacococrochet3 жыл бұрын
This pattern works best to create small appliqué hearts which I think would lose shape if you continued to add rounds. One option would be to create a plain blanket of treble crochet stitches and then sew the hearts on for detailing 😊

You might find it helpful to take a look at the written instructions for this pattern over on my blog here: bellacococrochet.com/valentines-heart-coaster/ to double check that you've made your heart correctly. It can be a bit tricky at first as you will be working around into the bottom of the chain, but remember to use a stitch marker to help you identify the beginning of the round 😊
