I've been crocheting for 55 years and I do not like the magic ring. Yes, I have tried it and I had a bunch of my squares come unraveled anyway. So, I do not do them that way anymore. Crazy thing is I actually left a long tail and wove it in as I went so, there was no reason for it to come undone! I ch 3 or 4 chains and sl st into the first ch to make my ring. Now, I do love to crochet together as you go because I hate weaving all that crap in at the end, so, thank you for that! Now I'm ready to start my first Puff Flower! 😍💗🧶

Ive been crocheting for a year and i hated doing the magic ring because i just could never get it right dunno why. Then on pinterest i saw a video of some do the magic ring in the most easy way i have ever seen and since then magic rings have never been a problem.

I just chain three or four slip stich it together and crochet into that. Same thing

Try the double magic ring. It NEVER unravels. It's almost mathematically and geometrically impossible.

I’ve been fortunate with my magic rings but it sometimes takes me a couple of tries. I’ve never been able to make going into my chain look neat so magic ring it is, I guess!

I always admired my mum growing up for being so good at crocheting. When I had to spend a long period of time at home during a recovery period last year I took up crochet as a hobby but have basically only made a cardigan and half of a second cardigan. This tutorial is super easy to understand and I appreciate you putting the time together for creating this textile! I'm attempting to use this stitch to make a little accessory bag to carry my phone and wallet which I'll try adding a liner and zip too if I look up enough learning to do that. I also was able to show my mum this stitch and she was thrilled by it since it's not one she has seen before so I reckon she's going to be doing something in time with this flower too. Thank you!

Great job!!! Crochet is one of those things that you don't know to do it until you do haha I spent two years trying to learn to crochet and I didnt understand how until I found a tutorial/project that clicked with me. Once I understood how to make the stitches I started learning quickly because all crochet stitches are just variations of the same stich. You'll improve with practice!!! Tension can be tricky, playing around with different hook and yarn thicknesses when I first started helped me get more consistent stitches and improved my tension later on when I worked with different hooks/yarn.

I’m using these little flowers to decorate handbags made from fabric scraps. I do the centres using eyelash yarn! It makes finding the next stitch to form the petals a little tricky, but the overall effect is stunning. Two of these sewn together make a very cute keyring (or one of those “dangly things” that are often added to handbags!). I’ve also made some whopping big ones, using Aran wool and a large hook, which turned out beautifully too. Thank you for sharing. You’re an excellent teacher!
