Thanks for helping me finish my moms blanket! Quite a few years ago I crocheted a bunch of squares and never quite finished making them into a blanket. My mom took them home and sewed them all together and put a nice border around them and gave me back the finished blanket. While she was in the hospital she asked me for a blanket to keep her warm so I gave it back to her to have. Incidentally it is the same blanket she had on her when she passed on June 6th last year. The border she put on her blanket was the same that was in your video After she died and we were at the apartment clearing away some of her old things we came across a collection of squares she crocheted. My step dad didn't really know why she was making them, so I asked if I could have them and make them into a blanket. I just completed this blanket today, and with the help of your video was able re-create the same type of border that she used. It was my mother who taught me how to crochet to begin with, thank you for allowing me to honor her one last time this way!

What a touching story.I send my sympathies to you.When l was little my mother crochet a blanket and mind her saying 3 in the whole and 3 at the corner.During lock down I took up the challenge of learning to crochet following Sarah Jane tutorial it worked and think my mother would have been amazed and yes it's the 3s but I know now it's a treble crochet.

I have just crocheted my very first baby blanket for a nephew and his wife's baby and I needed to add a pretty border to set it off nicely and I chose the shell border that Bella Coco had posted. I thought she did an excellent job in showing step by step instructions how to do it and it worked out perfectly for me to understand and it was easy to follow. Very pleased with my finished baby blanket! Thank you so much!

Started this week with the basic granny squares for beginners, great start, had colour block and also two tone, then looked at your border tutorial and have now just reviewed your scalloped edge and will be finished my first blanket tonight! Thank you so much, I wanted to crochet a pram blanket for my first grand child, but was a little apprehensive as my crochet skills were very limited, but with your tutorial, patience and very detailed explanations, I have been able to complete the blanket in a week, so thank you so very very much, I'm pleased as punch with it and I'm sure my daughter and soon to be grand daughter will be delighted with it in a months time when the new arrival comes. So, now for a cot size blanket and maybe different edging, thanks, brilliant, will recommend to friends and I have just joined a craft class, so have told them all about your great tutorials. Thanks a lot

You're gonna want to add more double crochets to do the corner scallops. My piece looked good with 8. So you do clusters of 5 D.C.'s along the straight sides and then clusters of 8 for the corners. If it bunches/curls, do one less, If it stretches out the stitches add one more D.C. It depends on the thickness of your yarn/hook but clusters of 5's and then 8's on the corners worked for me.

@donnabuttons12 жыл бұрын
@@dianaponraj3108 I'm at that stage myself right now. I'm trying 3 single crochets (as there are 3 chains on the corner). Looks okay so far and should hopefully keep it simple when I come back round with the shells.
