I'm very new and have not yet tried a border on any of the blankets I make for donation. I would love to see a video or project that takes us newbies through the border process, including the single crochet, chain you talked about, to get a good base. I'd love to try a border but I think that would help first, so I understand more of how you proceed from there! Thanks.

I put this in a special playlist because I knew I would need it again. I was looking for a boarder and was trilled when I saw this vid. I did the arches one with a little adaptation and it worked out beautifully. I’m going to do it again with a different slant and wanted to thank you first. I have used…what I call…the link beginning on a few blankets since and it’s made so much of a difference. Must admit thought when I want to edge a boarder to help keep its shape I always use the crab stitch, I know a lot of people have trouble with it but once I realised if I loosened my tension and relaxed it became very easy for me and I just love it…think it’s a marmite stitch lol. Bye and thank you again for sharing all your knowledge with us……I’ve said it before but will say it again…I just love all your wood tables bowls etc, I just love to have wooden things about me to touch and love. 💁🏼♀️

Would cotton acrylic mix work? If so, what's the minimum amount natural fibre that should work? I'm asking because I have lots of cotton blend yarn: it's cheaper than a good quality, 100% cotton and probably keeps shape better in high humidity than all-cotton projects.
@SecretYarnery11 ай бұрын
Hi, @oakstrong1!! It would depend on the border/project/size, but the last row usually works in a natural fiber - if you can swing it. (get the pun? lol) Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼

Hi! I have a question... hope you can help. I made a baby blanket and finished with a couple rows around of sc however, I have not counted stitches and it seems a bit 'wonky'. Corners are more pointed and I want it to look good obviously. ( first grandbaby coming) I haven't completely decided on what border or edging to do yet but I'm worried about the wonkiness of it. Will that remedy when I block it? Should I prepare it with a specific stich and count for the border and should I decide that first? Omg! I'm so worried about it looking good. I love your border with the colored balls around it so much. I may want to use that... HELP!

Hi Christa I’m new. Only on my second item. I’m making a large granny square to make it into a granny square shrug. Which border would you suggest is best? And would you do it prior to sewing up the sides for the armholes, or after you’ve done that bit so you can border the armholes also? Thank you 🙏 ❤
@SecretYarnery5 ай бұрын
Hi, @karenWiv!! That's awesome!! I would form the sweater first - so sew it together etc, and then add the border to finish it off. Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼

HELP ME PLEASE..... I have a question; I'm sort of new to crocheting, I'm trying to make Christmas blankets for my 2 granddaughters (one is 17 and the other is 16, 10 months apart in age) who live in the same household and are very competitive and like to one up one another. So the blankets I'm making are several different types of stitches all in one blanket, so they are the same blankets, but the stitches are in different orders. So they will be the same in different order of stitches. Also, they are the same yarn, only different colors. One blanket is half done, and the other is just started. With the one that is half done, I've noticed the edge (border) very close to the beginning is out of whack. I don't want to rip it all out and start over to fix it. Is there a way to border/edge it that will cover up all my mistakes ? How many people out there think that I should rip it all out and get it perfect.? ? Because the perfection in me tells me to rip it and perfect it. Otherwise, I open up the competitiveness in my granddaughters to say, "Mine is better than yours." And they would be right. And I would be cheating them both by not doing it right. RIGHT ? ?
@SecretYarnery11 ай бұрын
Hi, @alexcarrn28!! That's a tough one! If they are super competative like that, then yes - frog it back. But perhaps just start a new one, and crochet from the blanket your are frogging when you get a bit farther ahead? Might help ease the pain. ;) Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
