Love this tutorial! As a true beginner I am following along and well on my way to finishing! This is a silly question, but what stitch do you use to connect the sides and arms? I am not sure what you mean when you say that you sew those together as normal.

I don’t have a bane for it, just hold the 2 panels together and just insert your needle in and out, like you would sew together a cloth or something.

I had 18 rows for my 9 inches, but I think that’s not important. You can have 20 rows or 16 rows or any number in the same 9 inches depending on your yarn or even tension. That’s why I use measurements instead of counting rows or stitches.

Yes you can but the alpine stitch is heavy so the drape will not be the same.
