Quinn, first off I love your videos! This one was extra special because I learned about using goats as forest fire prevention! Your goats and other farm animals are so adorable. Turned out great! Second, and this is important, do NOT feel bad about spending time with your toddler! It's good for her to see mommy working and being successful, but these are such formative years that you're absolutely right in that you should be spending time with her! I help my sister and her husband raise their 2 kids and have for like their whole lives, my niece is now 7, and my nephew is going to be 4 at the end of August. Being part of their lives is such a blessing for me and I wouldn't change it for anything! As your daughter gets older she'll understand more about you working and will be happy to just do something in the same room as her. For now though, giving her your attention is so important! You're doing the right thing. You will eventually book shows further out from one another and have more time to make inventory but for now, girl you are rocking it! I'm so happy for you with how well you do at your shows!

You got this! You will be surprised at what people buy! What you think wont sell sometimes does and what you assume will sell doesn't! I think your big goat is awesome. I just watched the movie Wish the other day for the first time and I was thinking I would like a goat pattern and sell a star with it it That big goat is is just kinda what I have been looking for. Also when you add accessories or little embellishments people love that stuff. So a little flower or a little bandanna around the neck could be just the little extra something. Although the eyes you have chosen really have elevated your items to another level. They are pretty awesome. Do what you can when you can do it. If you sell out, you sell out! It's not a bad problem to have. Good luck to you at the festival and smoosh a kiss on your baby girl.

Hello, I know I have mentioned this to you before...but I relate to you so much. You are telling my story regarding my crochet business struggles and mistakes. I too signed up for too many markets and did not have enough time to prepare. When I finally sit down to crochet at the end of the day, my two-year-old daughter sees me crocheting and wants my attention. I started buying her sensory bins from Michaels and Amazon; she loves them. She will play with them for a few hours while I am crocheting. I set a table next to me and she will play with it for a few hours. My biggest struggle though, is never feeling like I have enough inventory and have enough hours in the day to prepare. Btw, love the black and brown goats, and thank you for posting your market prep videos!

Thank you so much for commenting. I think the sensory bins are a great idea. My daughter loves digging things out of playdough but it’s kind of messy so I’m always right next to her. Her birthday is coming up though so I’m going to look up some sensory bins to add her to her birthday list 😄 I hope the low inventory on our tables helps each item stand out more and makes each piece special, maybe it even helps drive home the fact they’re individually handmade ❤️

It’s crazy to think the smoke reached all the way over there, Oroville (the town I live in) is about 20 miles south of paradise and the air was unbreathable outside. Paradise is coming back though! Lots of new trees coming up 🌲

Oh, if you can order it try Premier Chenille Basix Brights, I use that interchangeably with Bernat Baby Blanket. They are very similar and I buy mine from Herrschners and I buy the three pack but since it is on sale I think they took the three pack off, but they have it on sale for $3.14 a skein. Which aint bad!

I make custom goats all the time for my shop. (Though I have never made one in chenille yarn) I think adding a neck helps it to look more like a goat and less like a sheep. I maybe need to come out with a goat pattern soon. That last one was super cute! I love the colors. I also love all your fun eyes!

The goats are cute but I'm thinking because they don't have drop ears is why they look less like goats 😊
@ClaudiaJasalavich
@ClaudiaJasalavich 7 ай бұрын
Yes. The roundish ears make them look more like calves with baby horns or the horn nubs. Goats, even the kids have a longish ear. Also, one of the early patterns makes me think of a teddy bear because the head is too round ( too spherical). The shape of a goats head is more like a strawberry turned on its side with a gentle inward curve from the base of the forehead to the nose. The strawberry would be squatter for a kid and longer for an adult goat. Also there it needs a bit more length to the neck. I am going to have to do some experimentation to work this out. I think one would start at the nose, ie. the base of the strawberry, and where you place increases would determine the shape. You are so good at free handing your patterns, you can probably figure this out for the future. Just a note, both female and male goats have horns. It is just that the horns of the females are way smaller. Usually, when you see goats without horns, it is because they were dehorned as kids; farmers also do this with female dairy cows while they are still calves.

Any yarn that easily sheds a lot of fibers every time you touch it is not good for your lungs. As pretty as chenille type yarns look, I don't use them. My grandmother worked in a textile mill in the days before more rigorous safety measures for workers. Many workers developed lung problems. This can also be an issue for people who sew lots of garments and don't wear properly rated masks and/or do not have the correct kind of air filtration to capture the tiny fibers from the air in the work place.

Hey, i truly love your content, but i have to correct you. We've had goats for over 30 years and all goats are born with horns. If they don't have them then they have been disbudded. In plushie land if you don't put horns on, most people wont think its a goat. If you finish the Madeline Mako pattern with her horns, your first one will look like a goat. ❤
