Another great video idea well executed! Great point about costs being the same. My fav part was your more about mind your business 😂😂😂

Lmaoooo when I saw that while editing I said welp.. I’m not re-recording it because of a normal bodily function 🤣 I live in the south and I was sitting in the sun.. it’s hot out here okay! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really like the way you added beads to the car hangers. Adds so much!❤ And I’m 100% with you on the acrylic yarn. No can do.🤷🏻♀️

Wow you can charge a decent amount in your area. I'm jealous! I don't make amigurumi I make wearables and home decor typically, but sometimes people will love something then not buy it when they see the price and my prices are reasonable for all the work that goes into them plus cost of materials. I'm cheaper than a lot of people but unfortunately even though my patterns for winter wearables are unique and not something you can buy at a store I hear people mutter "we can get this cheaper at Target" and yes they can get hats, scarves, mittens of lower quality and not as nice design for cheaper at Target but by the following year they're just going to rebuy it at Target so they'd end up spending less money if they bought the unique designs that they really like from me

So I price my stuff based on emotion like what I’m willing to let it go for.. I’d rather take it home than sell it for less than. Wearables can be challenging especially like tops and stuff bc they take a lot of time so they cost a lot. BUT I won’t expect to sell much at an event where I assume the demographic isn’t there to spend a lot of money. Like handmade markets people go to and expect to spend handmade prices. But if you’re at an event that has mlms and resellers people aren’t gonna be as receptive. Those people who say they can get it cheaper bc it’s mass produced at Walmart aren’t your target audience! Bc I would never ever say that even if I couldn’t afford it, handmade items are special and the hands that made them can charge whatever the heck they want to ! lol

thank you for this, i was at a loss of how much to charge for my upcoming market, this helped a lot. i hope i didnt offend by the comments i made on a previous video by saying i could never charge that much. i was just stating what goes for my area. i was in no way saying anything derogatory towards you or your products. i love watching your channel and appreciate your time and effort, i also love that you give us patterns to try as well. i love using the dollar tree chennile yarn but have never priced it out. that makes sense that it cost the same elsewhere i never really thought it until you brought it up lol. our dollar tree never has it but the one that is 20 miles away does sometimes but when they get iy in you have to be quick to get there and buy it before its gone. there are so many crocheters around here. i like working with worsted weight yarn but like you said it hurts my hands and wrists. but the animal always comes out neater and smother looking like you said.i have made both for my market this time, normally i only do plush but have been doing a bunch for this coming up lol. thank you again for taking the time to do this for us.

Nooo you didn’t offend me at all !!!! I didn’t take that negatively in any way. It’s just common on any video about pricing that people have different opinions. I mainly hope to avoid the nasty comments with my disclaimer about it 🤣 but yours was just general. Which is why i always say it depends on the person!! No way was i offended by that and i totally agree it depends on the demographics of an area and that’s why my pricing might not reflect others. I appreciate your support and being here 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

@@MJAlleywayCrochet well I am glad I didn’t offend anyone lol definitely here to support. I’ll be happy to get a camera and learn editing so I can get some tutorials up instead of the poor little vids I have now lol . Looking towards you as a mentor so to speak learning from you to hopefully help my vids as well. And the fact that your work is so darn cute 🥰 can’t wait for the next cuties to pop up on my feed

Awh that’s so kind !! I still do basic editing and I don’t have a fancy camera or anything I still just use my phone. And prefer to edit on my phone as well lol. There’s lots and lots and lots of KZbin videos to help with editing and showing you around basic software and apps. Looking forward to your future videos !

I was strictly worsted weight but out of necessity I've gone to 90% chenille. My hooks though...a value pack of red heart aluminum. Discontinued. But work great, comparable to Susan bates without pretty colors 😂 Informative video. I had wondered at the just chenille yarn. Thanks!
@MJAlleywayCrochet4 ай бұрын
I started with a simple set of aluminum hooks ! It was a long time ago so I don’t know what kind they were but I feel like it’s a good starting point for new crocheters!
@SabrinaArroyo-ft8pw4 ай бұрын
@MJAlleywayCrochet one thing I never got the hang of was tapered hooks. I started with inline and stuck with it. The downside is so many "pretty or fancy" ones only seem to be tapered. Which do you prefer? I tried bamboo ones, they are now designated to holding my hair in place 🙃
@MJAlleywayCrochet4 ай бұрын
@@SabrinaArroyo-ft8pw I prefer clover amour over any crochet hooks. I tried fancy ones. I have fancy ones. Expensive ones. And every time I put them down and grab my clovers lol

Yesssss!! I am so overwhelmed right now trying to organize all my yarn and I’m giving a lot of it away. I can’t hold onto it if I’m not going to use it.

9:30 - it’s actually only illegal in 6 states and often police are advised not to pull people over for such minor traffic law offenses! i honestly think anyone who enjoys a cute car decoration would love it (whether they care about that law or not lol)
@MJAlleywayCrochet4 ай бұрын
See I’ve never looked it up but if you post about it in any crochet groups on fb there’s always people saying they’re illegal and a hazard and I’m like ok.. 😅
