Kids today will never know the struggle of having to flip the work inside out to get that ‘clean’ look and chaining 2 to start the round 😩 lol that’s how I learned to crochet 10 years ago, but I’m so glad I learned to go clockwise now. Although I still don’t use the magic circle if I can help it 🤫 This may be a hot take but I do not like the idea of using glue on my crochet. Some patterns call for it but I will sew instead. And I know many folks use it and have no issues with their pieces holding up, but still.. I don’t trust it 😖 Aww I’m sorry you were feeling flustered for forgetting your canopy weights. :( and why is that vendor getting mad at your for that? They need to mind their business 😒 I was going to say that those sandals look new and that I’m glad you got yourself another pair of shoes that fit. When you mentioned in a previous video that you were wearing some of the few clothes and shoes that fit you I wanted to give you a hug. I remember the first time I went clothes shopping after having my daughter. My mom took me to buy a new swimsuit and insisted I try some on. It was awful. I stood in the fitting room looking at this strange person with this strange body and wanted to cry. 😔 It’s been three years since that experience and it’s gotten better. I’ve been telling myself positive affirmations and that’s been really helpful. “Thank you, body, for growing and birthing my healthy children.” “Thank you, body, for nourishing my babies when they were little.” etc. :) I’m also very intentional about the language I use around my daughter. “This is Mommy’s beautiful body.” When I exercise I say “This is how Mommy takes care of her body. It keeps me healthy and strong.” 💪 I’m still not 100% comfortable with my new body but I’m learning to give it love anyway. I suppose that’s part of the journey. :) Just felt compelled to share this with you, Quinn, in case it helps you or anyone else reading feel less alone. ❤️

Color change is still easy for me. The color change is the same but the ends are already on the inside. You can tie off as you go or crochet over the ends.

If you don't already, make sure to promote your show! Tell your friends, family, and coworkers. You dont need to go on social media all day every day, but set up automatic posts. People want to support you, and there's a good chance the market wasn't well advertised. Your zebra was so cute too!

East coast markets are not great either in the summer. Best to take that time and build inventory for the fall. The flies are driven away from the smoke concentration. Look forward to your next market.

What I do for the safety eyes is I will take a lighter and melt the pointy backing and then flaten it with the side of the lighter. Be careful doing this because the plastic will catch on fire but it takes away the point and double secures the backing on because the plastic ends up bigger than the white backing. (I hope this makes sense). That one squirrel looked like she was pregnant! I too had a poor day at a summer market just last weekend. I only sold 5 items. Thank goodness the spot was free for me! Love what you are doing and I love your videos!

Summer markets can be really slow. We did a bunch of school markets last summer, and they did not do well for us. So we thought that they weren't good. This year, we weren't going to do any summer markets because we thought they wouldn't do well for us. We got invited by another vendor friend to do VancouverPrideFest this year, and it was awesome. I'm so happy we did it. But the fires for sure would reduce the attendance. Hopefully your next market will be better. ❤

Hey Quinn! Thanks for the honest review of the hicrochet kits. I am always scared for those kind of company's and products to suck, because they are really playing into trends and cash out from it. It seemed like it didn't really dissapoint, but not really wow at thesame time. And for that price: that yarn seems similar to one i have used before and it costs 1,25 euro's for 40 grams here in the online store. So materialwise the pricing for everything seems a little steep imo. I loved how your booth looked! I also had a bit of a slow summer market 3 weeks ago. I registered for one that's two weeks from now, but I think I will skip it (your video actually convinced me lol). Thesame organiser is planning a handmade themed evening market in the beginning of september and I suppose that may be a nice alternative for me to vend. I was laughing so hard about the bugs and the squirrel mutants that were stalking you😂❤ i would be scared too! I'm glad you were able to distract yourself after that hectic video and thanks for another great video! Good luck with your future video's! Love, CooldownCrochet ❤

Me watching this and running to turn my glue gun off 😮 I did a summer show and I got the same info from other vendors. Fall/holiday/end of year is always the best. Also I’ve had snot and vomit in my mouth … neither mine. Kids are great 😂

I’m sorry your market was slow.. I’m telling you girl.. these summer markets ain’t it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 loveeee the mermaid. Also when you crochet right handed in my mind it would be easier because you don’t have to turn it right side out it’s just already like that. All the ends end up inside as you go. As always love your video 🫶🏽

Would you consider doing a tutorial on how to crochet counterclockwise? A pattern that uses eyelash yarn recommended crocheting counterclockwise and I don't quite understand how to do it.
@CatCakeCrochet4 ай бұрын
Oh wow, I’ve never worked with eyelash yarn but I have heard people say for some fur yarns they look fluffier when you turn your work inside out, you could try flipping it inside out before you close it or before you get to any part that are BLO/FLO or have chain stitches, I always work with the opening of the plushie towards my hand and then flip side out so the opening is away from me when I need to do anything that is going to show on the outside.

@@maryelgin9919 that’s my fear!!!! Gosh, that must have been scary. At the 3rd event I ever did someone’s tent flew away and hit a foot truck. I am so thankful for the kind vendors next to me for letting me use their weights!

Those critters looked like furry rats! Now I am curious what they are. Too bad market wasn’t very busy but as long as you made back your table fee it’s not a total loss. The drive through treed road to Fort Bragg looked beautiful.

There are so many factors that go into markets that it's hard to say *exactly* what will make a market successful. I vended at a gay market yesterday that had a FANTASTIC turn out, even though there was a HUGE annual event going on just 3 miles away, but I've had some markets that seemed like they would be very busy, but ended up being kind of a flop.

Oh my gosh, yes I get really embarrassed when my daughter is loud or destructive in a store. I try to keep her contained in the cart but I refuse to give her electronics to distract her so sometimes we sing or say silly things to keep her attention on us instead of throwing a fit
