Thank you so very much for your tutorial, because casting on with double-pointed needles gives me 'the vapours.' I infinitely prefer to work the Magic Loop, so now I will purchase the Musselburgh Hat pattern. I live in Canada, where cold temperatures require well-padded, layered hats. Bless you for making the Musselburgh Hat achievable for this Magic Loop advocate.

I just went through your tutorials, yesterday, looking for this! Lol! I thought I had missed it. But, I found your cuff down sock series (which I LOVE! I did leave a comment too! 😊). I will be checking out the toe up series too. I've made my supply list of things that I need to pick up so I can make some socks and give the afterthought heel a try. This cast on looks so much easier than using DPN's and I think I can use it with the pattern I've found for a hat that is a similar construction to the musselburgh. Thank you, thank you, thank you! For your wonderful tutorials. I always learn so much! 💜✌️🧶

Thank you so much! I’m starting my 4th Musselburgh hat today! They are so fun to make and this starter is icing on the cake! Did you know the history behind them? Excellent tutorial, Natty. I had trouble years ago with this cast on , since then Laura has remade her original video and by George I got it the first time I watched it. The next Musselburgh I make I’ll use this method and see how I like it. I knit and crochet so I’ve plenty of crochet hook sizes as well as interchangeable needle sets. ;) New Subbie here, just learned of you over the past weekend.
