I'm crying with you for your sweet Jersey. I also had to put down my old sweet cat Zoey last year and it seems like yesterday. I still weep for her. I got her as a kitten and she was about 14 yrs. Oh my gosh, what a touching story! THANK YOU for not being the type of people who return an animal to the shelter at the first sign of a little bump in the road. We who adopt rescued animals know that we can NEVER know what they have gone through before we found each other. Love to you and your family. Jersey could not have possibly had a better family. You can see his love and joy for y'all in his eyes. I've spent all 53 years of my life surrounded with animals of all sorts and you can easily read their moods and level of happiness in their eyes and body language. No doubt that Jersey was a truly happy man dog! He won the lottery when you adopted him! My heart aches for you as I've recently lost my own old man corgi to cancer. Memories both hurt and bring joy.

We have adopted shelter dogs as well. They just need lots of love and we're the ones to give it to them! You were such a good mama to Jersey Boy and your whole family was such a blessing in his life. Oh honey! What a wonderful experience you had with Jersey! I am so sorry for your loss. I am older almost seventy! I have enjoyed the company of so many fur babies in my life and the pain and sadness when they have to leave. I am so very sorry for your loss. Jersey looks like such a sweet, loving dog and listening to you tell us about him had me in tears. I lost both my senior cats within six months of each other, back in July of last year and January this year, and I'm still not able to hear about a beloved pet getting injured or dying without crying my eyes out. But I'm very glad you told us about your amazing dog, all the good things and all the not so good things, all the things that made up who he was long before he ever got sick and you had to make the always heartbreaking decision to let him go to sleep. What a beautiful but sad story. Losing fur babies is so hard. It was very clear the moment your son seen Jersey it was going to be a fabulous life for both if them. Are daughter has 2 great Danes that found her family in a unique situation. And the oldest one definitely had trust issues. But love has changed her as well. So sorry to hear of your loss. My heart goes out to you and family. I have to rescue dogs and it was a little difficult but now four years later they are my babies. I lost one before and I try to just love every minute and create memories. So sad he left but the beautiful love and memories Jersey has left will get you all through. ❤️❤️

I just started watching your videos and your story about Jersey Boy touched me,we have 2,17 year old cats,and 10 year old pug chihuahua mix,(Bandit)I got at our local shelter,he is so sweet and precious…I can’t imagine life without any of my babies,we got Bandit 8 years ago,he is so attached to my husband and I’m second best,which is odd since I’m the one that got him,it’s funny how much our sweet babies add so much happiness to our lives,I would incourage anyone to adopt at a shelter,we’ve had a great turn out…. So very sad, I have tears running down my cheeks and I can feel your pain. All the wonderful memories you have, just think what a difference you and your family made in Jersey's life. Rescue dogs are truly wonderful. My daughter started getting rescue dogs about.eight years ago. She always seemed to pick the oldest one, she felt like they were the ones that needed love 💕 the most. I'm not going to try to explain all of her journey with these wonderful friends she rescued, Minnie was the first one and the first time I saw her I thought my daughter was crazy, she was about six years old and had been so neglected. She was a breeder dog and had spent most of her life in a cage. Took a little bit of time for her to get used to her new home, but she is now queen of the house. I could talk about her experience with rescue dogs but I won't. I pray that your family can remember the good times and all that you provided for her and all the love you gave him. 🙏

I was determined to adopt a hard-to-place cat. She was crouching in the back of her cubby and when I stuck my hand in she hissed. I knew right then that she was the one. She has turned out to be the best cat ever. We also three days ago took in a kitten whose mother was run over. They both are such joy they will have a home with us forever. I will make them each a blanket. I will also make my daughter's dog a sweater. I know how much it hurts when a fur baby passed away, my prayers are with you and your family.

I haven't watched the full video yet, but that story of him running away and then waiting at home reminded me of my dog Bean! He once did that, got loose in the forest and ran away, I searched and searched and then decided to go home and get my partner to help, and there he was, sitting at the front door.
