Thanks for this video. I have to use a 5.50 hook, don’t have 6.5. I crocheted 61 for teen/adult small and its really short. Do you just wrap around my head until ends meet? Sorry I’m not good at adjusting patterns. I know since I’m using small hook I will need a longer chain. Thank you so much!
@yvonnemetz1
@yvonnemetz1 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry didn't see this earlier. No need to apologize. It's hard adjusting patterns. What I normally do is take the measurement and reduce by a few inches. For example if head is 21" I make my chain to about 19 or 19 1/2 - this will stretch. Hope this helps and thank for you watching!

Hi Mandy! Oh Wow! LOL! The best thing about this pattern is that you go by measurements! So for instance my Head measures about 21" and when I did 70 chains it was approx 19" (this will stretch) So keep chaining til it goes around your head! I'm sure your 18 month old looks Adorable!! Hey I love this video! But I'm trying to figure something out. I'll chain until I reach 19 inches or so, but once I get 2-3 rows in and I measure it again it's up to 20 inches long. But when I count the stitches the numbers don't change. Is this normal? I'm trying to make it for a friend who's head is around 21 inches.
@yvonnemetz1
@yvonnemetz1 4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you! I think that's fine since at the end of the project you'll be adding the twist and it'll take up a little bit on both ends. I never measured passed the 1st initial row. I'll have to see if that happens to mine as well. Let me know how it works out. Thanks for watching.

@yvonnemetz1
@yvonnemetz1 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I would go by the hook size that is on the label. As far as the chains that just depends on the size you need for your head. If it's for just chain til it fits around your head - Then follow the pattern. No stitch count is necessary. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

Hi there sorry to hear that. Try going down a hook size. I made this to my size head. Make sure you measure your head. If your head measures about 20" then stop chaining at about 18 to 18 1/2 - this will stretch (try it around your head) then work the pattern. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Hi Sande - Thank you! This one was inspired by someone in the FB Group I'm in as the Headbands started rolling in. She shared her directions. Had no idea about the Yarn & Chai til someone else shared it with us all. You are right it's 14 rows and uses a thinner #3 yarn. Very pretty as well! Great minds think alike. In our Group it started with The Thermal Stitch from The Purple Poncho and how she does the Twisted part on the Headband itself. Very clever that twist. You are right these are the next Messy Bun MINI Hats! LOL! Thank you for watching and for your comment!

CraftSea Creations the cool thing about these headbands is that you can make any design that creates a long rectangle. The possibilities are endless. As these catch on more & more I can’t wait to see what people come up with. Like you, I used worsted weight I Love This Yarn. My starting chain is 68 using a 6.0mm clover hook. I’ve made a bunch already bc of a market coming up. They’ve all worked up beautifully. And they work well to warm the ears! ☺️👍🏻👍🏻😉
