Crochet Round Doily Placemat Tutorial

How to crochet round doily placemat step by step tutorial.
Finished size: 35 cm (13,8'') in diameter.
Materials used:
DK / Worsted weight yarn. I used Drops Cotton Light (50% cotton, 50% polyester) yarn. 70 grams (147 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
3, 5 mm crochet hook - www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/po...
Abbreviations (US terms):
sk - skip, sp. / sps - space / spaces, st./sts - stitch / stitches, ch - chain, sl st. - slip stitch, sc - single crochet, hdc - half double crochet,
puff st. - puff stitch - 4 half double crochet together,
bpdc - back post double crochet.
( )* - repeat instructions between brackets the number of times indicated.

What is the length of yarn required

I literally started to crochet like two days ago and I started on this video which was surprisingly quite easy and fun to make! (Thanks!!) but mine was a bit smaller than yours, I used the same hook, wool and all but I'm not sure why. Any tips?

If you crochet tightly, it might come out smaller. In that case I would suggest to size up the crochet hook.
