Hi Jayda, thank u for ur reply. I've been practicing & have made the one with cotton yard a bit larger. Tried one with acrylic yarn & it makes it quite a bit larger. Followed ur instructions and it helped quite a bit. Thanking again. And yes I do feel somewhat better. Thank God. Happy crocheting. Lily Baker

Jayda you’re the best. You’re the best crotchet teacher on line. I am such a big fan. God bless. Jayda, I’ve made 2 shawls, 2 hats and 1 beanie already with your tutorials. You’ve made countless people so happy. God bless you. Your sweet soothing voice also helps following you all the way. This table mat gave me a hard time though with the count of the stitches, so I’m going to do it again with a bigger needle so I van follow the stitch count a little better. Thank you again.

Hi Farida! We're so happy to know you're enjoying our show :) This is definitely one of those patterns that you want to count as you go! Remember too because we're working in the round, there is an extra or "false" stitch (at the base of the ch-3 that begins a row), don't be fooled by it ;)

Jayda InStitches thank you so much for your reply. I’ve made shawls with your instructions, beanies with your instructions. You are the best !!! This pattern is a little troublesome for me. Have had to rip entire rows twice cos the stitches just don’t add up for me.

I just wanted to thank you for this beautiful pattern! I am working on my 3rd set for my best friend since last year about this time. She asked me to make 6 Christmas green ones for her dinner table. I added 3 increase rows before the border row to make it full size. Earlier this year I made her 6 off white ones for daily use and now I'm working on 4 red ones for her Christmas breakfast table. She puts a slightly larger red placemat under the green ones for Christmas then a print napkin in a holder in the center of the dinner plate. It's stunning. Thank you for allowing me to use your pattern to make a very deserving friend happy!💖

Sometimes when I'm crocheting I turn on one of your videos, any one, I listen to you talk to me its like having you here, as a friend, crocheting with me. You and your husband do a great job. I like your website too.Thank you. I'm trying to make your placemats pattern and I need help try to increase after 6 rows. I'm looking forward to your response. Have a great day! :)

Hi Bing, thank you so much for watching :) You can try making this pattern with a larger hook to get a bigger placemat, that way you don't have to worry about extra math. Try a 5.5 or a 6.0 mm hook and the cotton yarn and it will be larger :)

My bff asked for 6 holly green placemats for next Christmas. We found this pattern and it just spoke to us! Im on my 6th one and its not even July!!! However.....the first one I made was way too small for a dinner placemat. I frogged it twice and went down to an F hook before I had it looking the way i wanted it to look. Oh, and added 3 rounds. I absolutely love them! Thank you for your hard work in creating this beautiful placemat!

Thank you for making this pattern available!! I've been looking for a pattern for a mat for 4 tiny floating shelves I've had forever and the tiny oval doilies I had fell apart. I tried a couple other patterns that didn't work out. Doing the first 3 rows of this pattern than doing the last 2 lacey rows fit the shelves perfectly! ❤ I only changed the last row to 2 sc, 3 ch, 1 sc in the back of the base of the sc before the chain, than the 2nd one the same hole space. It seemed to make the point more prominent. Beautiful pattern. Thanks again!!

Thank you for this tutorial. I found by using the 4.25 mm hook mine work wasn't too tight, but the finished height wasn't going to fit my plates, so I continued two more rows of DC without increasing and then another increase row of 2dc and then 1dc in the next few 4 stitches and it was about right. I might even add one more increase row with 2 DC and a DC in 5 stitches when I make them again. Going to do the coaster now. Thanks again! Mary Lou

I have started to decorate for fall/autumn season now. I chrocheted a lot of my decorations. I made a fall /autumn afaghan and pumpkin shaped pillows. And a stuffed jacko lantern. And paper towel holder candles. Decorations are 12" tape decorated candles. Leaves and lights. Harvest standing signs. Faux asst. Fall/autumn season flowers and picks. And stuffed animals to. Having fun with all the decorations

Can you use acrylic yarn for the placemats? Great instructions! Can't wait to start
@JaydaInStitches
@JaydaInStitches 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Norma, acrylic doesn't wash and wear as heartily as cotton does and it will also flatten faster than cotton when weight is applied to them. Also, if you intend to use them with plates that have hot food on them, you should not use acrylic as it will flatten immediately and/or melt depending on how hot the plate is. Cotton is strongly recommended.

Should I want to increase the size what am I to do. Thank you for being so clear which includes how much yarn each table mat would need. God bless you cheerful lady.

Hi Anne, Thank you for watching! 🍂 The easiest way to make these larger is to use a larger hook and heavier weight yarn, rather than fiddling with multiples and extra rows. You can also use several strands held together 😊
