Written Instructions (I'll update as I work on my own pair of these shorts) Materials: 1:29 - 2:56 I'm using a 5mm hook and 100% acrylic yarn waist band: 3:03 - 10:03 1. ch 12 2. turn work and begin in 2nd st with a hdc, hdc once in each st (you'll have 11 sts), 3. ch 1 and turn your work 4. in back loops, continue to make 1 hdc in each of the 11 sts repeat lines 3 & 4 until your band is the circumference length of your upper waist (i ended up with 99 rows for a 40" waist) Shorts: 10:04 - still working from the last st you made in the waist band but working perpendicular 10:12 - 15:05 1. ch 1, make 2 hdc in each "st" (each row in the waist band, you'll make 2 hdcs) this will come out to 198 sts for me 15:07 - 19:23 2. turn your work and ch 1, 1 hdc in each st (198 total) 19:24 3.

Shyler, this short are gorgeous! But, I wouldn’t expect anything less. The edging is awesome. I agree with you, it should be called “the reverse single crochet edging stitch. I’m making a gray pair for my baby girl with one of your crop tops. Please continue making these videos, they are perfection!!!

Mine turned out perfect. I think it is important to know if you are a tighter or looser crocheter. Using my measurements I ended up closing up the back to avoid a zipper and they still turned out amazing. Thank you so much.❤❤

Don’t know how I messed up, maybe my yarn stretched as I worked it, my tension is usually spot on but when I finished my shorts they were a bit too big😢 might try again but it’s so much yarn for it not to turn out right. Great tutorial though, very easy to understand! And the stitch that you used at the end for the edging is called a “Crab stitch” - one of my favorite ways to finish a project !

For me: After finishing the waists line Roll 1-2 hdc Roll 3 dc in first chain and then hdc and dc in the last chain Roll 4-5 hdc Roll 6 dc in first chain and then hdc dc in the last chain Roll 7-8 hdc Roll 9 dc in first chain and then hdc dc in the last chain Roll 10-11 hdc Roll 12 dc in first chain and then hdc dc in the last chain Roll 13 - 14 hdc Roll 15 dc in first chain and then hdc dc in the last chain

It can just don’t sew a zipper and maybe add a couple more rows on the ribbing unless you like it tight. Another way you can attach it useing half double or double crochet

​@laticiamajor679 hey, I didn't sew a zipper. I did single crochets all the way up on the "wrong side" of the shorts so it wouldn't show on the outside. It worked well ! Good luck !
