I really love this ‘bean stitch’ Alison! This will make up in no time! The couple I’m making this blanket for is a couple that’s having “twin girls that due in May!” So after I finish this one, a May buy some yellow yarn and make the other baby’s blanket in yellow or maybe a lavender color but I’ll do it in the same stitch as this one!! This blanket just came up in my feed-perfect timing 😊bc I was gifted 2 random balls of yarn 🧶🧶 by a friend who found them in a resale shop 🥳🤩😍. Wow,after struggling with what some other instructors told me were easy paterns, I inadvertently found you and this bean stitch pater is really easy and beautiful. I began crotcheting this past winter and made my version of thw shurpa hats, mittens and slippers. This month I thought I try my luck at some simple baby blankets. Mainly using single crochet and variations of the double crochet. Some of the tutorials inly feusteatwd me, but today your tutorial was excelant and the ine riq repeat was so easy and beautiful ir restored my my hope. Thank you for going slow and repeating each stitch so bt rhw end of the row that stitch wasetchwd in my mind. You are a good instuctor. My orijwct foe thus bean stitch is a twin bed cover,but I don't like a lot of holes so I am using a 4 1/2 hook and a medium 4 moyen. Thanks again!

Google blanket measurements and then chain # of chains for the size you want by measuring the length of your chain.

Chain a length to measure how many chains make 4 inches...then you can make your blanket as wide as you like. Figure how wide you want your blanket to be by googling a chart for typical afghan sizes!

Hello For a pram cover, I make a chain from my wrist to my shoulder. For a baby wrap I do fingertips to shoulder. For a cot I do fingertips to chest bone. For a single bed, I do fingertips to fingertips. Make sure you always use the correct multiples stated in the pattern because you will need those to form the repeats. Also, most projects stretch a bit.
