You will be so excited with the Sugar Plum Fair Blanket! This blanket works up quickly, is super easy and feels so incredibly snuggly you will have a hard time giving it away as a gift. Speaking of giving away as a gift! This blanket is perfect for anyone any age. Make this blanket as a baby gift or an adult, a child or a teenager. Personalize this blanket by choosing a color that they love. At the very end of the tutorial I have included a chart of all the many blanket sizes you can make and the helpful information you will need to make them. HAVE FUN!!
If you would like to put a Blanket Border around this blanket I really liked the Single Crochet Blanket Border. Because the yarn is bulky you should be just fine only giving this blanket border one row.

I'm an old newbie. I've been crocheting for 40 years but self taught. My mother taught me how to make a single row and that was it. I taught myself how to turn and begin a second row. I dont know the lingo AT ALL but I taught myself a pattern that confuses everyone 🤦‍♀️😄 but I get compliments all the time. I finally decided I should learn the right way. I bought a book, opened it, then closed it and said it should be written in a foreign language because I don’t understand it haha. KZbin here i come! I learned 1 beautiful pattern but wanted to learn more. I wanted simple but pretty and elegant, I wanted it to be simple but look complex...... and BOOM here you are! This pattern along with your excellent teaching, is so easy!! I love it! Thank you so much! And the INVISIBLE KNOT😱😲🤯 MIND BLOWING MAGIC! THANK YOU!

Omg! That’s so funny cause I’m on the same boat you are in, my grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was young and in Spanish!! I love it, but can’t read a pattern if my life depended on it! And every book or magazine I buy just totally confuses me! But yes these videos on KZbin are fabulous! Good luck to you! So glad to know I’m not alone!! 😉

We should start a club for older newbies 🤣🤣 I taught myself to knit and crochet over 40 years ago so when I found myself retired and lockdown arrived I enrolled in KZbin university to learn how to do it properly much more interesting and entertaining than trying to understand a book that looked like it was written in a foreign language

I am a self taught crocheter too. My mother in law showed me how to make a chain ages ago. I kept experimenting. I did make a few things but to be honest KZbin did the magic. After retirement I am living with my son. To keep busy I started with crochet In last 3 years I did many projects. Beanies cardigans shawls ponchos slippers socks baby cocoons baby bags bags doilies all thanks to KZbin and the boredom after retirement. I also find it hard to follow written patterns. Today also I was looking what to make next. OMG I found your channel and this beautiful easy to make project . So well explained 👏 . I love it and sure this is my next project. Thanks.

I needed a quick pattern to make a small throw for a friend, and the Sugar Plum Fairy is perfect! It’s definitely a weekend project and so easy. I wanted to start the base row with HDC stitches all the way across instead of the pattern. To do that, only 101 sts are cast on instead of 102. When I finish the throw, I’ll crochet the last row with HDC sts all the way across, just like row 1. I’m using HL “I Love This Chunky” yarn in the Herb Garden variegated color, and you’re right - it’s SO soft! I used your invisible knot all through the project, too. That sure made things easier! Thanks for giving us such a fun, easy project!

My blanket is turning out really pretty so far. I decided to use a super chunky yarn that recommends a 10mm (UK) hook. It's working up fast. I've chosen a pale silver grey and the stitch definition is more obvious - I like it. I'm left handed, but have found this video really easy to follow because of the stitch repeat, the knot section was helpful too 😀

I have recently tried this method of tying on new yarn. I like your merged better. Looks so much easier to do. And yes it does work.

i made this in a small size 16 x 20 inches for my sisters ailing cat and it came out great. I added a hdc border on three sides to match the first row. I will probably make more for a local cat shelter. Thanks for sharing it.

omg thank you! you literally explained two of the main reasons why i stopped crocheting. One was if i count the loop on the hook as a stitch and the other was how to tell where the next stitch was.

I’m making this blanket next I’m finishing up a blanket right now and this one is next. But I’m hoping on here to say you taught me that invisible knot trick and I want to say I use it all the time now. It’s amazing and I love it so much. Thank you for teaching me this trick it works so much better then trying to hide a knot or any other way it’s my go to trick always.

Hi Kelli! So excited for you to be looking for your first project! It is super helpful to know your stitches well before diving into a project just so you can avoid frustration. If you like this blanket go for it. Though I think you might want to take a peak at this tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3yoequXpr2dm5Y. This is easy to follow and I show how to turn it into a blanket. 😊🧡🧶
