I’m beginning this today with the merino silk in The Moor color way, DK weight. I may decide to switch patterns if I decide I don’t have enough yardage, but it will be delicious practice either way.

@@MollyGordon Was just gonna say it might be a little hefty. If you want something that works up fast, the feather stitch would also look really cute. You could make that a rectangle cowl!

This is absolutely beautiful! I would love to start this shawl, but am thinking it may be too advanced for me as I have only been crocheting for about six months. I would love to know the yarn weight and yardage of your skeins, plus approximately how many skeins you used to get the size of your finished piece. What are the measurements of your finished (purple/white) shawl. I understand the finished size is up to the individual, but for me, measurements are important to give me an idea about how much yarn to purchase. I'm in a rural area and limited income, so planning purchases is important for me...but I also love pretty things... :) Again, it's absolutely beautiful!

I so hope you can do this! There's no time limit for you, so take your time and I think you'll manage. The only tricky part is getting the clusters on your hook to make the little petals, but I believe in you!! You got this. The yarn used was 50% merino/50% silk to give a warm but soft, flowy feel. The weight/yardage of each skein of 4 ply/fingering yarn was (100g/400m -- that's about 437 yards per skien). I used 3 skeins (so it totaled 1200 m) and after blocking the shawl it measured 70 inches across and 34.5 inches in length. It is also stretchy but these are the measurements without it stretching it too tightly. I hope this helps and I hope that you are able to make your own beautiful creation! I shall make it - thanks heaps !! However ..please note that your written rows from row 4 to row 6 contain an error. Watching you do it clears it up; but the little written rectangle for row 4 has another 2ch after the first solitary dc that follows the two groups of 3dc. So that error gets replicated in the 5th and 6th written rows, too.

Thanks! Oooh that's a good question. I suspect there is a pattern written by a lovely person out there, but I don't have one. I tend to make the edges of my shawls with this same stitch just to make the shawls look more complete but the general stitch is just the puff flower stitch, so there may be a written pattern out there for that.
