I would like to make a scarf like this, you explain very good but I would have loved if you made the 4th row with the rippings for us begginers, it would have been more useful than the explanation of the second row. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thanks for the great tutorial! I loved the design of this scarf but wanted to make it out of heavier yarn. The yarn I used recommended 6 mm hook so I switched it to 8 mm hook to add more drape like texture for the scarf. You can modify the concept for bulky yarn: if you have 28 stitches in the ripple rows it comes close to being the same width as in the video (22 cm wide). This means we need to modify the pattern a little bit:1 double crochet in the first stitch (it should have chain three already as the second "double crochet"), then 4 regular double crochet, 2 double crochet decrease stitches, 4 double crochet, 2 double crochet increase stitches, 4 double crochet, 2 double crochet decreases, 1 double crochet. Chain three and turn the work and repeat. Hope this helps someone :)

A lot of people are asking about expanding or decreasing this pattern. The way that I calculated it, is you basically need a multiple of 12. The down the hill, up the hill pattern takes 12 loops to complete. For example, I am using a chunkier yarn, so I have 24 stitches in each row - WITH THE EXCEPTION of the first chain. You add one. So my first chain is 25.

@maggiefairbrother76893 жыл бұрын
Please, could someone clarify. I am trying to make this a blanket for a queen size bed. If I understand correctly, I create the first row with enough chains to get the width I desire but the total number of chains must be a multiple of 12. Once have the length then I simply add one more chain. I don’t add the one chain for each multiple of 12 - just one additional chain, right? My first attempt failed, when doing row four it ended on a downhill rather than at the top of a hill.
@karenbrazitis93136 жыл бұрын
Love the look of this! Could you please share what the multiple might be so that I can make a blanket instead of a scarf? Thanks again and love your videos!!!
