It's very hot where I live in Florida. It's always in the 90s with a heat index in the 100s. We don't have AC on the boat so I just do small projects. The bag was a perfect project and I make hats and tea towel toppers, anything small during the summer. And then when I visit my son or my mom, both of whom have AC, I take bigger projects along to work on. I love crocheting while you're crocheting and listen to you talk and explain things to me. I finished a baby blanket and matching lovey today! I posted it on instagram and tagged you. The stuffed animal in the lovey is an infant activity creature. It rattles, plays lullabies, attracts babys attention and makes other noises. Im giving both to an expectant mom friend in 3 weeks. It was 102°F in Houston but the heat index was 125°! It was still 100° at 5:30pm when I went to get the mail! Im REAL glad youve had a relaxed, quiet day today.

The thing i crochet most is Prayer Shawls. After my husband passed 16 yrs ago this Christmas I started a Prayer Shawl Ministry at our Church. We've given out about 1,000 Shawl so far anf thepeople that recieved them were so appreciative. I'm out here in Southern California in the middle of the Mohave desert. Yesterday's high was 113° and it's only 108° today.🙃 The forecaster tells us that we were going to be 108° to112° for all of next week and weekend. I'm not complaining because we have virtually no humidity so it's easier to go get the mail and not come back sweating. 🥵 I love your show❣️ and I especially love your sense of humor❤️. We went to our daughters, for lunch, grand kids and great grand babies, were there. Then we went to look at a house, we are thinking about moving. My husband walked out the back door of the house, missed a step and fell. Hurt his shoulder and cut his are pretty bad. He's ok, but going to be sore tomorrow. I just work on what ever I want to. Gonna be in air conditioning so it doesn't matter to me. Your flag blanket is going to be beautiful.

Hi Kayla, your bag is awesome. One suggestion for carrying smalls in your bag. Use a makeup case for items like pens, lipsticks, or other items. I don't sew, but I have several empty makeup bags from Dollar Tree I can use.

I like to crochet hats and scarves in summer. Especially hats. I also like to watch reality shows and documentaries about Alaska and the Arctic Circle and deep ocean marine life and basically anything cold. Then I donate all the items in the fall. It is going to be 100 degrees where I live today. Which is hot but not terrible because I moved away from phoenix where it is going to be 116!😮 I cannot regulate my body temp or blood pressure or heart rate well, especially not in the heat. I have dysautonomia and autoimmune disease.

Watching someone else crochet is very relaxing if not even mesmerising. Myself i have done no crochet all today. I find myself in a very strange mood. I am nearly at the end of my large shawl project and have gathered the wool and patterns for two new projects. But i want to finish what I am doing first . I'm annoyed with myself because I could have finished the shawl today but my down mood made it seem like a massive mountain to climb. Still, there is always tomorrow. Me too. Have 4 projects I'm going back and forth on. Either I go until I run out of the yarn, or I get it done, or I need to change hook handle &/or yarn size for the severe arthritis I've been working on developing for about 15 years. Remember last September I had a bone removed from my left hand by the base of my thumb. I guess it's a common surgery. Now the right side is getting bad. I saw the specialist I saw for my left hand. He suggested we try the cortisone injections in the base of my thumb and one in the base of my ring finger. I hesitate to do that because it makes my blood sugar spike. Not good in year 39 of being diabetic. ❤😊 I love crocheting, and listening to you and sending a message if I find something your talking about that makes good conversation. 😊❤❤😊😊

Our weather here in our part of Southern California has been weird. The last couple of days if was 80-90 and today we barely hit 80 and at night low 60's to high 50's. I took a slipper sock that covered just top of my foot decided it was going to be to hot. I made a small to medium drawstring bag out of it . I added heavy clip to it and attach it to my belt loop. It's super cute

It's 100° here but I'm in a/c. Making a vest out of two large granny squares. They are 20 inch squares and crocheted in a variegated 3 weight premier yarn. I'm working on 2 other cardigans also. It's not any hotter than my other hobby, quilt making. I've made blankets in my crochet journey but I have quilts!!! Glad to see what your up to today!

Hey Kayla so I’m Making three total on the last so after the tedious single crochet the first time I was over it lol so the last two I chain stitched in all the four spaces to make the strap on I left all four it’s actually cute the last one I’m going to do four make a rope of them and add it. I just can not do a Long Long single every time and it goes soooo much faster❤❤❤❤ thanks try diff strap ideas it’s fun

To shorten length of pink strap of this similar bag, I suggest to take a "tuck" in strap by pulling length of strap in fold or tuck and above bag part on each side, sc the 2 thicknesses to the strap together so take up some excess of length of strap. This would also give strap thickness & stability to both sides of strap. What do you think?
