I have been crocheting for going on 50 years now and when I was going to have my first duaghter, I thought I invented this stitch. I got so tired of the granny stitch so I twisted it up. that was back in 1977. I still love doing this stitch but haven't done it in years. now its great grand kids baby blanket time. Thanks for reminding me about this stitch. LOVE IT.

I used this stitch 39 years ago for my daughter's "lovey" which became known as her "pokey" blanket. The holes were just the right size for those little baby fingers. The stitch really is a mindless pattern.

It is the kind of Shawl that 2 panels are seamed together. Of course I could be the one who is not going about it the correct way since I have not made a Shawl before. This is a cute stitch and I like the tutorial. But I am confused about the stitch count. I did 70 stitches plus one, did the single crochets across, chained 2, turned my work, did a double crochet in that same first stitch, did the Xs the whole way across, and I don’t have a last stitch to put in a single crochet. What am I doing wrong?
