I think this would be much easier with verbal instructions added for a beginner. It is easy once I write down the stitch and watch your movements a couple of times. I always seem to miss either one whole part or 1 stitch. I found myself starting from the beginning several times before I memoriesed the stitch to beable to move on.

This headband is adorable and I was excited to try to make it, but the video is really confusing. I think either a verbal or written description would help a lot.

Here's the correct count for the tan color at 6:46 : Start on the side (at the end) you started your project on. Push into the center stitch (the one that doesn't belong to a flower petal), yarn over, pull, yarn over again, pull *sorry if I don't make sense, not too great on the crochet language lol* 4sc then 6sc,1sc (repeat until end of row) 4sc then 3sc, back to 6sc, 1sc (repeat untill end of row) 2sc then slip stitch into the first stitch you made. Hope this helps someone! I loved making this. I'm used to watching peoples hands then actually reading patterns so I didn't have as hard of time but I know a few who would be lost. I always suggest people to look up video tuturials that show you specific stitches and how to do them. Helps those who are new to crochet.

When it comes to the final single crochets around this project, I find that I don't even count the stitches and just do how many it takes to cover the previous color. Given the yarn I used it actually took 2 sc instead of the suggested 1 sc for the smaller sections to achieve full cover with new color.
@yoleniartz10 ай бұрын
@@michelle1182 Awesome! I did that with the 3rd one I made since I switched yarn type. I believe its easier to add or remove stiches when you have a better understanding of the pattern. Had I tried to do that when I was a beginner crocheter I would have failed miserably.
@michelle118210 ай бұрын
I absolutely love this pattern and have made several as well. The time you took to write the sc counts was very thoughtful and kind. The last couple I have made I didn't use the string and just continued the pattern until it was big enough for my head and then sewed the two ends together through the finished sc's at both ends. @@yoleniartz

@@michelle1182 Thank you! And I love the idea of just doing the full pattern. I've made them for friends but would love to make myself one next time I get more yarn. 💕

Agreed. for a video advertised as an easy tutorial for beginners, it sure is confusing. I quit near the beginning when we started doing "dc3tog" with no explanation. No hate, but the video is falsely titled.

this is an easy project to make for beginners; however, you might need to modify your instructions further - make it more detailed and kindly slow down to make it easier for beginners to follow. it's fortunate that I've been crocheting for quite some time so I can follow the pattern just by watching the hands, but for beginners, especially those who rely on tutorials, every step counts for them. additional info: I think at the start of the color brown (7:18), the count should be 6 sc and not 2 sc.

Everything was fairly easy until I got to the strands. How does she make it look so easy?? I keep losing the stitches:( I made it tho, and it`s super pretty! I used a thinner yarn so I made the flowers thicker.
