My yarn was a bit smaller so my hat came out too small the first time, so I tried again with 12 sc in the magic ring (instead of 8 like the video) and then followed the video and it came out great! Thank you!

I’m using a medium 4 yarn so it’s coming out tiny. Did you use the 12 sc instead of the 8sc for a child’s beanie? I’m making this one for a 1 month old baby so I just want to make sure it won’t turn out too big if I do the 12sc

I am having a really hard time getting the hat to be big enough. No matter the pattern i choose i always end up with a hat that seems way too small, almost as if its for a preemie.. There's NO way it'll fit a newborn baby, yet even a 3 month old using the pattern.. What am i doing wrong??

Are you using the same size hook and yarn? Then it is likely that you crochet tight. Go up 1 hook size and see if that helps.
