I'm currently making this cardigan and I'm having issues with the stitch count. No matter what I do, row 3 of the yolk only has 97 double crochets. I counted my stitches for row 1 and there are 67 (which is how many there should be) how many stitches should be on row 2, thanks in advance 😊

Look up in google “children’s clothing size measurements chart” and you will have that info for any stitch size. I hope this helps

Yes but #3 yarn is too thin. It’s going to look lacy if you use a bigger hook size

I’d say the Aran yarn is slightly thinner than red heart. The red heart brand tends to be a thicker #4. I don’t like to use it for that reason because it changes the sizing on me lol. If you want to use it I’d use a slightly smaller hook. Good luck 👍

Oh my goodness that’s a big size difference so yes you will need to add more rows to the yoke, the body and the sleeves using that same hook size and med #4 yarn. Good luck 👍

I'm not sure where I went wrong.. but after the very first row of shells, I end up having 22 instead of 24 shells :(. Will it still work? Or will it be off and I'll redo the whole thing? Thanks so much

Yes it’s going to be off for the body and it will be slightly smaller if you continue with the 22. If you’re ok with that then continue. If not then double check and make sure you have the correct number of stitches when you divide the sleeves. Good luck
