Thank you! I'm what they call a 'confident beginner' and this was the next lesson I'm teaching myself. You made it a process I both understood and I will be able to achieve first time. Thanks again! (Susan, in the UK).

Yay! This always makes me happy Susan! I was amazed at how easy these were to make the first time I learned this.

I'm almost finished with a sweater coat that I made from converting a cardigan pattern. Trying to figure out how to do buttons for it has been an issue I've been working in my head since I started the sweater. This has given me some wonderful ideas. Thank you so much

Bonnie what a great simple video that anyone can understand. No music straight to to point :)

Thank you Tara! This was one of the first (analog) videos we ever uploaded! We've gotten better with lighting and all as time has passed but still no background music during instruction. I personally never understood that distraction!

I wouldn't even consider myself a beginner when it comes to crochet because I've only ever used a few different stitches for edging or details on knitted pieces. That said, this video is EXCELLENT - exactly what I was looking for, easy to follow and well explained THANK YOU!

Love your tutorial! I'm working using Double Crochet can I use the same technique to make my buttonholes?
@BonnieBayCrochet9 жыл бұрын
Sure - just give it a try! You may need to adjust the number of stitches according to the button you are using. The double crochet will be wider than a single crochet, so this wouldn't work as well for small buttons as for larger ones. Hope this is helpful! I want to make a couple of button holes on an alternating back post/front post DC edging. Would the SC work for that also? Thanks!
@BonnieBayCrochet5 ай бұрын
@@dianeduerst6117 depending on how you are doing this, you can just stick with ribbing if being worked along the edge of the front opening. I do this often.

What method would I use for a waffle stitch please ? Btw great video
@BonnieBayCrochet9 жыл бұрын
wendy Taylor Hmmm....I suppose you could try making the button holes horizontal in your work (side to side) in necessary and use the same method shown. You may need to vary the number of chains for the hole (and hence, the size of the button to fit). Another option is to discontinue the waffle stitch and to add a button band to your work, which is very common when crocheting cardigan sweaters. Hope this helps!
