I make a granny square with the yarn from everything I make. Once I have enough I joint them together to make a blanket. Like a blanket that contains all my projects. It feels similar to scrapbooking.
@pamhuckle3029Ай бұрын
Made my first granny square blanket from the leftovers from Knitting years and years of hats and mitts for my children. It's on the back of my couch right now.

My mom has been using a d20 for a few years to pick recipes from her cookbook collection to make every week and it puts her huge collection to good use! Recently she's started doing the same with her crochet pattern/book collection. I LOVE this idea, my cookbook and crochet book collection is small for now but in the future I will definitely be using a d20 to pick my next projects
@StaggySwaggyАй бұрын
By the way, you can start the join as you go on day 1 if you're attaching the squares in order!
@lateformyownbirthАй бұрын
Fun fact! The D4, D6, D8, D12 and D20 are the five Platonic Solids! Presumably they bring D10 with them because he's their friend.

You could also have a partner or family member help you. Pick out your yarn, then have them put them in little paper bags with the numbers. That would be a fun activity if you had kids as well, let them pick out and bag. Such a cute idea!!!! Advent calendars are fun, and this is a great stash buster!!! And yes, you are as fun as Saturday morning cartoons! ❤

I loove this idea!! I will start the preparations tonight so I can join you with this project! 🫶💝 I'm thinking that I might do star granny squares to give it magical energy! ✨️💖🤩

Join as you Go is the ONLY join I will do anymore, I love it! (except in extreme circumstances like when I sewed my Hopper Cabin blanket to get the full reproduction effect lol) If it helps, I have my tutorial linked in the description of pretty much ALL of my videos because I want to try to help everyone learn it

I love this! can’t wait to see the finished piece! Just wanted to let you know, if the dice are made out of resin sometimes the pigment can settle down making them heavy on one side. so you might end up rolling a lot of the same number.

I have those dnd dice for dnd. They are named by the numbers of sides, so you have a d12 and a d20. The d is for dice and they are gorgeous dice. I love your idea and when I finish all the things I have to do, I might give this a whirl.
@kyloh8706Ай бұрын
love this idea! i’m definitely also guilty of buying new yarn for every project so something like this might be interesting. i currently have like 3 wips going so i’ll have to postpone it but i might use the dice strategy for a patchwork blanket! can’t wait to see your updates❤
@faithdockendorff4747Ай бұрын
I’ve been stashbusting making the groovy flower pattern using all my scrap/stash yarn for over a year now- just picking away at it. My only rule was no two squares the same colour. I’ve pretty much finished the squares, but I can’t decide whether to do another random colour around the edge, whether to do a round of black or white around each square to unify the blanket, or whether I just want to sew it up. So it’s been sitting dormant for months while I decide. 🤦♀️

it took me way too long to realise you meant odd and even when you said negative and positive 😭😭 would love to be involved with this tho!!! i might add some other element like maybe each number roll is linked to a different bird and i have to use the colours of that bird (my special interest is birds who would have guessed)
@cceerryyss_bbАй бұрын

Oh dear. 20 on just a set of 7 dice?😂 i have so many dice because I used to be a dungeon master back in college...and now all the d&d stores around me have gone out of business. I have yarn...love this idea. Especially since I cannot make a guage work for me to save my life (my stitches are too tall. So it works one way but not another)

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY! Not only do we get more of you during the week, Michelle, but we also have the opportunity to engage in a CAL with you. I'M IN! My DnD dice are packed away somewhere in the storage closet outside and for the sake of not having to battle spiders and their webs to get to them, I'm going to be using an online spin the wheel site where I can customize it. With that, there is only one thing left to say... #24daysofgrannysquares for the win!

There is actually a name of these dice: you call them d for dice and the number of faces it has, for example, a 12sided dice is a d12. A "normal" dice is a d6

Have you ever tried the yarn at Giant Tiger? It's quite cheap , but it often just says "mixed fibers" so I have never tried it for fear of one of the mystery fibers being wool, which I'm seemingly allergic to.

You could always just re-roll if you roll a number that's attached to a small amount of yarn that you've already used 🤷♀
